There was one, in a forest filled with unicorns and other such creatures, a turtle. There was nothing of note about the turtle, it was a plain looking thing, and with a plain brown shell, plain stumps for legs, and a plain little head seated upon a plain neck. The turtle was ambling along aimlessly as he was prone to do one day when l, out of the river, leapt a fearsome Dragon. The Dragon snapped his wicked teeth menacingly.

"What do you want with me?" Asked the turtle

"I want to kill you, not for food, not for your shell, but for the spot of it! Ha ha ha!" The Dragon replied.

Thinking as swiftly as a turtle could, the turtle started crawling towards the river. "What are you doing?" Chuckled the Dragon. He made no move to stop the turtle as it slowly slipped into the river. When the turtle didn't reappear where he had been submerged or down the river, the Dr a on howled in rage and leapt into the river.

The very moment the Dragon had dived down, a roving band of hunters appeared, and without thinking, shot the Dragon as many times as they could in the head. Hearing the Dragon still whimper, the hunters set their hounds upon him, who quickly destroyed what was left of his head. The hunters skinned him and the river ran red.

The turtle returned from the underwater cave where he had been hiding to find the Dragon, amazingly still barely holding onto his last minutes, groaning and writhing in pain. The dirt and sand from the river drove into his bare flesh, making him scream.

The turtle made his way, still walking aimlessly, leaving the dyeing corpses as if nothing had happened.

The hare emerged from his Warren where he had hid from the Dragon, and found to his complete and utter amazement, the skinned corpse of the Dragon.

"The turtle! The turtle killed the Dragon!" He exclaimed. He ran all over the forest repeating his news to any who would listen.

"The turtle?" The badger said questioning the rabbit's credibility. "Yes! I swear it" replied the rabbit before moving on.

The rabbit was met with many similar responses, and it was only until he met the unicorn that he was met with any sign of fear. "If the turtle can do that to the mighty Dragon, imagine what he could do to me! I shall have to dispose of this threat immediately!"

After he had dismissed the rabbit, the unicorn summoned his friend the kappa. He was a repulsive thing. With a turtle shell not dissimilar to that of the turtle's, and a gaping hole in his head. However, he was the perfect assassin for riverside deaths.

"You must kill the turtle before his reign of terror spreads!" Instructed the unicorn

"Why must I do it? If turtle can do such a thing to a Dragon, to skin it and maul it's head, imagine what it could do to me! If I am to do this, I will require twice the normal payment." He said

"If you can kill him, you shall have it and more." Promised the unicorn.

The kappa waited patiently as a water snake for the clumsy turtle to arrive back at the river. The turtle slipped into Tue water to swim. Immediately, the kappa rocketed underwater at him. The turtle once again ducked into his cave.

After the turtle had ducked into the cave, a fisherman swept through the river with his nets trailing behind him and his family. He caught the kappa and once he saw what it was, he cut off his head quickly and took his shell. After he had harvested it, he threw the kappa over the side of his boat into the river, where the corpse was swept to the portion of the river that belonged to the unicorn. Once again, the hare was the first one to discover the corpse.

"Again! Turtle's done it again!" He yelled again to the sky. The unicorn was the first to hear the news and made a quick decision. He would simply have to deal with the problem himself.

Unicorn waited for the turtle behind a tree, where he could quickly skewer the turtle. He saw turtle coming and quickly prepared himself to leap forward. The turtle walked past unicorn and didn't even turn his head. Unicorn began to jump forward just as an arrow pierced his heart. He instantly fell over midleap. The turtle kept walking as the triumphant Hunter collected the horn and cut off the silver mane and tail of the unicorn. He sold these to the king and lived happily with his family, and his pet turtle.
