*Sage McCarthy on the top*
"Are you okay?" Lesley had asked me.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I've been doing pretty well and so is Nathan. He's been a little hectic at times, but that's how young kids are right?"
"Right", assured Lesley. Lesley and I were at an art gallery in Williamsburg just painting whatever we wanted.
"I'm glad you're doing well," Lesley continued to say."Damn well look at that, girl you were born an artist; tell me some of your secrets!" We both laughed. "I'll make sure to give you some tips on how to at least make your drawing look realistic."
"Thanks, haha. Listen Sage, I'm proud of you, for being strong." Lesley looked up at me with her big bright eyes, smiling and bringing the dimples to show on my cheeks. 10 minutes later after finishing our creations she grabbed her coat.
"I have to go now, but I'm glad you brought me here to not only paint with you, but to see that you're happy."
I smiled at my long time best friend. "I'm glad we're still friends."
"Of course. Bye Sage", she said giving me a loving hug. "And give Nathan a kiss for me."
"I will; bye Lesley", I said waving as she walked out the door.
I was a writer and painter. I loved to show my feelings out on art, and it just helped to express what I had in my soul. My life has changed for the greater, and although no one can see it, I can. And it's time I finally begin to speak about my experiences.
My name is Sage McCarthy, I am 28 years old, and I have a 6 year old child named Nathan Carter McCarthy. My life may seem okay, but everyone has a different perspective.
