As if this day couldn't get any worser , I was in the other side of my office , looking through files on the table.
That stupid girl Sophia , left everything in a mess , I don't even know how she stayed with me for 3 months.
She was useless as an assistant , a knock brought my attention " what! " I shouted.
The door swung open and it closed , I was already frustrated and by the looks of things whom ever the woman was , she too would irritate me like the shameless others.
I could hear her heels , clicking on the floor but she came to a stop " good day Mr Johnson , can I help ? ".
" whoever you are help me look for the , Charleston file " I voiced not looking at her.
These woman annoyed me , I swear they don't get enough , they were always horny , eyes undressing me , they weren't even ashamed.
When I didn't hear anything from her , I looked up , she had the file in hand and what I am assuming to be my coffee.
I reached out for the file but she held it back , annoyed I finally looked at her.
Who the fuck was this? And why was she testing my patience? , she furrowed her brows.
" I am Elaine your assistant, I'd appreciate it if you changed your tone as I am well aware we both are not deaf " , this must be a joke.
I chuckled " my assistant? I didn't hire you " , " therefore you don't get to shout at me " , I stood there silent watching her.
She was serious and disturbing " the file " she handed it to me with the coffee, then walked around the table clearing up her desk.
I walked to my desk , I didn't have time for whatever this new drama was.
I buried myself in work , but every now and then I'd lift my head up and look at the girl.
One she wasn't trying to make a move on me , two she was wearing a suit granted it sat well on her but it wasn't tight , I've been around here to see woman with short skirt and tight pants trying to get in my pants.
Three , she was calm , respectful , I've been listening to the way she speaks with clients.
Plus the office looked clean, her desk was organized.
It was now lunch time , she walked out of her side and into mine.
God was it me or did I feel a little intimidated by her , I pretented I was working.
She cleared her throat and I looked up " what would you like for lunch? " , " uhmm it's okay I am not hungry you go ahead " , " it's said you're pretty hard to work with when you're hungry.
And we have 2 meetings coming up , are you sure? ".
" you did your research about me? " , " I ought to know you , so we can work better together " I nodded she was right.
" then uhmm get me what ever you're getting " , " I am getting a salad and sushi , are you sure ? " , " definitely anything but that " , she nodded walking out.
Only then did I realize she was wearing a balman suit , and red bottoms.
If she's loaded why is she working as am assistant? , I picked up the office phone and called Steven over.
I needed to know everything about this girl , Steven walked in just as the girl walked back in with our lunch.
She placed mine on the table greeting Steven then walked to her mini office closing the door.
Steven sat down , I opened up the food , it smelled delicious.
" give me details on the girl " , " I can't sir , she was brought in by your aunt " , " Loraine? " , " yes sir " , " okay " I got up with my food walking to her office and sat down.
We ate silently after we were done she packed both our , containers throwing them away.
" can I ask you something? " , " sure " , " were you sent here to spy on me? ", " no , I am not that type of person " , I shrugged sitting back.
" you don't look like you need the job , hence I am asking " , " you don't know me " , " you're dressed expensively " , " that doesn't mean you know me "
" then tell me about you " , " I don't think it's appropriate to speak about personal matters at work " , " you're avoiding the question ".
" I stu..." , " no not that, I want to know you we will be spending alot of time together.
You were right, I am sorry I was disrespectful before, I thought you were one of those girls that come here just for a fuck but I see that I was wrong.
So tell me about you ,only what you're comfortable to share ofcourse " I voiced hoping she'd give in and tell me everything herself.
" well , I am someone who likes my privacy, I don't like people in my business.
I go to the gym , every night , I am active , I do drink , clubs once in a while ,wine every other night.
Love reading , I love my space , food , sweets, sports, cars , clothes, jewelry.
I am not materialistic but I love looking and smelling good , it's not for other but definitely for myself ".
She did smell good, that's one thing , I can attest to.
I nodded , noticing she's wearing contacts " what's the color of your eyes? " , " mhhh green " , " can I see? " , " maybe one day " that was my que I got up.
" I hope we make a great team Elaine, I look forward to working with you " , " thank you sir, same here " I walked out closing her door and sat in my chair.
She's interesting I must admit that , but as I've been sitting with her, I couldn't help but feel familiar, like we've spoken before.
This was the first in years , I had an assistant whom I'd say I was interested in building a long term relationship, work relationship ofcourse.
The rest of the day went on well, Elaine did really make everything easy, my savior.
