The sun was beaming down on us; the concrete stung me every time my foot slid off my flip flop it would grace me with a burn. Beside me Ellie complained about her sunburn. The guys stalked in the front of us, up the road that was abreast the beach. We had packed up at the beach and now we're headed to get some food.

My friend, my boyfriend's friends, friends of friends and one of their girlfriends. This accounted for all of us. My bff Ellie. Bodhi and Joshua orJosh (Rhett's school friends). Jean Miller, Bodhi's girlfriend. And a guy from school that was invited by Josh.

We neared a few blocks before we got to the quaint little market. Just a few more blocks in this heat, I kept telling myself. Jean kept bragging about her soon to be vacation to the Bahamas on the other side of me. Jean was the type of friend that you hated half the time. She had nice moments but also diva ones.  We've gotten along ever since Bodhi and her got together but we're not as close as it seems, we usually run in different circles. Ellie's not much closer to her than I am too though, but we try to get along either way.

"Really!" exclaimed Ellie. "I whish I was going to the Bahamas, I haven't been on a real vacation in five years," she sighs.

"Don't worry hon, I'll make sure to send photos of my vacation so you can live vicariously through me," Jean says obliviously.

I giggle on the side as Bodhi calls for his girlfriend to join him.

"Miller get over here!"Bodhi calls as Jean runs up. Her pin straight blond hair blowing on her back, Bodhi then wraps his arm around her shoulders.

Me and Ellie keep talking as we continue on our way.

"Stupid sunburn, I should have put more sunblock on, promise you'll remind me next time we go to the beach about today so I'll be careful  to never get another sunburn?"

"Of course," I tell her. "Rhett's holding some of my stuff in his bag, theirs some aloe gel if you want it."

"You're a life saver babe," she says as she runs up to Rhett's group of friends.

Rhett hands Ellie the bag to look through. We pass by a few shops on the right of us as we get closer. Rhett jogs over to me happy and smiling. Rhett scoops me in to a hug with his right arm.

"What going on?" I ask.

"...Nothing," he says but I can sense something's up.

And in one second I can feel him tug my right hip towards him and he undoes the loose ties of my white skirt cover up. The thing that was shading my ass from the world.

I cry out in surprise. Figuring what he was doing.

What is he doing?!

I snatch at him but I'm too late. Rhett runs away up to the front of the group. I stop in my tracks. He knows I'm not going to run after him in my wedge flip flops, I'll trip.

"Rhett!" I complain, but he only jogs always giggling like a school girl. He skips like he's so joyous to see me standing half naked in the street. I've stopped in my tracks right next to a gas station but the group continues ahead.

Fuck.

I start walking after them but I'm too slow, they near the street light to cross. Rhett continues, waving my cover up in the air like he just won capture the flag or something. I'm to nervous to run after him with my butt cheeks out, we're not on the beach anymore. People pass by us and I start to feel uncomfortable. They start crossing the street.

The sun puts me on display, not a single cloud in the sky to help shade my unease. I'm just glad I'm not in a thong, but my cheeky bathing suit bottoms are practically no better. I glare at Rhett with despise, he wraps and ties my cover up around his head like a weirdo pirate. I'm left standing their in a fitted tank top and my exposed tanned ass.

I contemplate what I should do.

Well I could-

"Your boyfriend seems like an asshole," someone says beside me, cutting off my train of thought.

What?

I stare up, probably with my mouth hanging a little bit opened. I didn't relies anyone was walking behind us.

How dare he...

It's the guy Josh invited. I'm frozen in place staring at this half stranger.

"Ugh...," I speak.

How do I respond?

Luckily he speaks before I have to.

"Does your boyfriend usually play games with you like that?" He asks.

"Yeah,"I tell him, why is he so curious?

"Cute," he says looking into the distance, I can tell he means it sarcastically.

I almost scowl back at him. What is it to him to care.

He then turns to me with these  swoony eyes that shine a light hazelnut in the sun. With hazelnut specks  along the bridge of his nose and his hair cropped short but matching in the hazelnut color trend.

I notice I've been looking to long at him and I take a step back suddenly nervous of his beauty.

"Here," he says.

I'm confused only until his shirt starts to ride up. I blush hot red as he pulls his shirt first over his low abdomen, revealing he's abs and then his chest and shoulders. Right over his head. He's muscularly lean. Light tan skin, smooth-

And I look away, checking on how far the group is now. Only a block ahead of us.

I look back at him and he's handing me the shirt.

"I think it'll cover you for the most part," as he hands me his faded gray t-shirt.

I guess he's just trying to help my predicament?

"Thanks," I smile, like another man isn't coming to my rescue because of my boyfriend's actions.

I'm going to pants Rhett when I get the chance! Ugh.

I sheepishly throw on the shirt and watch as it hits my body. Just below my ass and the sleeves at my elbow. I feels light and soft. It feels a bit wrong because it's not Rhett's t-shirt.

We continue walking back to the group, who now wait far ahead. Side by side in silence, the only noise radiates from the slap of our shoes against pavement and rustle of cars flying by because what am I suppose to say.

'Thank you for not staring at my ass Rune.'

One things for sure, I've definitely embarrassed myself in front of Rune. And now I'm wearing Rune Henley's shirt.
