APRICITY (n.) :

The warmth of the sun in winter.

"Swore I'd seen you before

Watched you walk through the door

Something in your eye

Reminded me of somebody I used to know

You touch my back

I took your hand

Something from your touch felt shockingly familiar

And I'd swore I'd seen you before

Oh, I swore I'd seen you before

Underneath the sheets, you enchanted me

And whispered sweet nothings in my ear

I shivered beneath you

All wrapped up in embers

It was a night to remember"

It is a known fact that in the world of Formula One racing, only those who possess the mastery of controlling their cars like an extension of their bodies ever manage to succeed. However, to achieve such professionalism means lifelong sacrifice, giving away your childhood in favour of forging a career that demands nothing less than absolute dedication and perfection.

For Max Verstappen, the roar of engines and the thrill of high-speed corners were not just a calling but a destiny shaped by his father's legacy. From a tender age, the scent of motor oil and the symphony of revving engines replaced the lullabies of a typical childhood. With unwavering determination, Jos Verstappen sculpted Max into a prodigy, honing his skills on karting circuits long before peers had outgrown training wheels. While Jos's tutelage undoubtedly sharpened Max's racing instincts and technical prowess, the relentless pursuit of perfection and the weight of expectations—both from within and from the racing world—began to take its toll.

In complete contradiction comes Charles Leclerc, who found the love for racing through his godfather Jules, under whom he became the driver he is today, finding solace and joy in the act of racing itself rather than the relentless pursuit of perfection. Although his journey was marked by nurturing support and genuine love for the sport, the death of Jules, later followed by his father, severely impacted the young Monegasque's life. And so, he ended up seeking solace under the secret identity of Marc, a pianist who occasionally played at a jazz club in Monaco.

What happens when Max and Marc cross paths at the jazz club, developing an unbreakable bond even under the mystery of the brunette's real identity? Apricity is a story of love, emotion and hurt, where damage gets done.
