It wasn't the sunrise nor the missing heat of body behind me that woke me up. I was so tired after all of those actions, fears and the sleepless nights that I've never ever slept so soundly... and nothing could ever put me on my feet as quickly as when I began to perceive the familiar tinkling of butterfly wings.

I barely had time to pause at the fact that I was left all alone in the clearing, and I was deftly zigzagging between the trees in an attempt to elude the flock of butterflies persistently chasing me. I thought of nothing but the impulse that I had to escape from them.

The lure carried on the flickering of their wings got so loud that it increasingly resembled a rather aggressive, downright warning screeching. Covering my ears didn't seem to help, yet I kept trying while my feet struggled to avoid tangled tree roots.

"Why me again?!!" Do I look like some alluring rose petals or- ... damn it.

My eyes widened as I finally noticed the glistening pollen all over my arms... the distraction caused me to fall.

I immediately backed up catching my breath.

At least move a little further. Hurry up, body!

And it did. I turned on my knees... and almost thought I was definitely doomed...

... but as I noticed the huge tree towering over me, I suddenly just knew I wasn't. I simply knew. I'm safe.

No way...

"The Father of wisdom," I gasped for the air, looking up at the rich crown of the tree.

As soon as I dug my fingertips into the moss covering the thick roots, an eternal peace immediately embraced my heart and soul. It's alright...

The butterflies weren't really attacking me, neither they caused me any kind of hallucinations. On the contrary, I realized that their loud jingle was only protecting me from my own thoughts.

They started flying around me, creating a kind of breezy sensation which sent tingling chills down my spine. It became so pleasantly overwhelming.

Mother Nature, what is this feeling? I wondered, when the shivering on my shoulder blades made me want to curl up to the nearest root and hug it in longing for its unconditional love, safety and last but not least... its soothing scent.

"Don't worry, my precious child..."

The feeling grew stronger and stronger, making me close my eyes, hiding them before an expected explosion. And then it happened-

As if static electricity hit my back.

The backlash pressed my chest into the soft moss and the wind blew my longer hair into my face. Oh my godness...

I remained in that magical moment until I dared to swallow the surprise that sent sparkling fireworks into my fast beating heart. I noticed my fingers shaking from the amount of wonderful energy that filled my existence.

It took me a while to gain the courage to also slightly open my eyes and peek above my shoulder.

The way my jaw dropped I had to fleetly touch my lips and hope my eyes won't pop out.

I- I have wings...

I got... freakin'... beautiful butterfly wings!

Amazed by the discovery I finally got back to my feet and made a turn alike an excited dog chasing its own tail.
