"Ughhh..." Sam slowly rose to conciseness from a circumstance he had forgotten. He slowly opened his eyes, with his vision becoming increasingly less blurry. At first, he thought he had just woken up in a bedroom, but as his vision became ever so slightly less blurry and his head started hurting more, he couldn't believe where he found himself. He was in a medieval prison cell.

The floor was sandy, and the bars were made of pure, cold steel. The walls were bricks of hardened sandstone, as he could perceive. A torch outside the cell gave light to his cell. From where he woke up, he could only see a wall leading into what seemed like a corridor that ended right where his cell was.

Sam's curiosity increased, so he slowly stood up, hearing a slight metal plonk from behind him, which he didn't pay any mind to just yet. Once he fully stood up, his head immediately started hurting, and that metallic plonk was audible again. To him, it felt like I couldn't move and that his vision got blurry and then less blurry just seconds later. Still, he pulled through his confused state and slowly started walking towards the prison cell's bars, his body shaking each step of the way. As he approached halfway, he could suddenly feel a strong resistance on his wrists and ankles. To bypass it, he tried walking harder and faster and immediately fell to the ground, this time the metallic plonk being interpreted by his brain as being related to him not being able to move forward. He looked down on his ankles and wrists and saw the unbelievable.

He was chained to the wall of the cell. Both arms and legs were chained. Panic started setting in Sam's mind.

What...what is going on...where am I?

Immediately afterwards, Sam tried remembering what he did before he passed out, making his head hurt even more and his heart beat irregularly. It was a pain unlike any he had ever felt before.

Was I drugged? Is what Sam thought first, but who would do something as cruel as that. I didn't...

Panic started setting in again. Sam was so close to not being able to hold it any more, until finally his panic tipped over and he started screaming:

"Is anyone there!? I am looked up! Where am I?! Can anyone help me?!"

No one responded. Sam felt the isolation all over his body, any sound would now give him the feeling of being scared.

Shit! He thought

He tried calming down, seeing there was no use in panicking. Furthermore, he didn't know where I was. How he got here. Where he was before. Nor how he could get out, but Sam knew if he didn't get out, he would die. His train of thoughts sent shivers down his spine, making him spiral into a chaos of thoughts

Assuming I am really alone, then, I will die in two days of dehydration. Shit I need to get out of here

He tried his best, throwing that though out of the window by simply thinking to himself.

Sam calm down, it will be okay

He obviously knew nothing was ok, he considered his situation again: Chained to the wall, isolated in a prison cell of an age he didn't even exist in.

Despite all his previous experiences, trying to remember the circumstances of how he ended in this cell, Sam wanted to know what he wore. Maybe this way, he figured, he could find out where he was before he ended up here. As he looked down, he saw that he wore old garments, the type of which only poor people would wear in the medieval ages. But why?

Again his thoughts spiralled into an abyss of all his questions, luckily one of them was going to be answered soon enough.

Suddenly Sam heard loud ominous footsteps, which sounded like boots walking on concrete ground, causing them to echo throughout the entire corridor

As Sam's brain interprets the sound as a threat it sends shivers down his spine, but with a clear sense of life danger as he tries to again leave the cell and run into the corridor, as the only effective way to escape the impending doom that may come to him, however the chains stop his actions, despite his best efforts. As the steps get louder, a large shadow appears, getting bigger with each step Sam is able to hear. Every progressive step sends a shiver down his spine, making him feel like the ground is shacking. And as the shadow covers the entire front of Samuel's cell, he can make out a hood covering a head from the outline. Then the steps stop. The figure casting the shadow must only be a few meters away from where the bars of Sam's cell started, just outside his field of view.

Then an ominous deep manly voice, unlike any he has ever heard before, starts speaking in a demonic tone. To Sam, it felt like it was directly talking into his soul.

"Ahhh, the new arrival it seems." The voice implies and the shadow in front of his cell still not moving an inch.

Despite being scared, Sam gathers all his courage and asks quietly and weakened, "Who are you? Where am I?"

The ominous voice begins laughing out loudly, which makes the entire cell vibrate and shake, to Sam it also felt as if the laughs made his chains tighter. After finishing its laugh, the voice begins talking, "It seems you are still a little confused, but well let me explain the obvious. This is a prison, and I am its guard, and you are a prisoner."

Despite the intimidating actions of the voice, Sam once again gathers all his courage to ask ,"But why, what did I do?" Sam's voice expressed, clearly, that he had no idea what was going on and why he was chained and locked up. A moment of silence filled a suddenly moist air.

As the air got more moist, the voice suddenly spoke again, "Ohhh..." Another break of silence arose until it was broken by a much deeper and more aggressive voice, "a special case, it seems like you have forgotten what you did. Let me help you refresh your memories a little"

As Sam clenched his eyes to blink, water suddenly leaked from the ceiling of the cell, forming a little puddle on the ground. Seemingly out of nowhere, Sam was hyperfixated on it and followed each drop until it hit the ground.

The drop first slowly poured out of the ceiling and slowly formed, then falling onto the ground into the puddle, causing a splash and slight wave in the puddle. A sensation of thirst creeped up Sam's mind and suddenly got so bad, that he lost his vision and lost his consciousness.

As his consciousness faded, he heard loud music and saw a cocktail glass, filled with his favourite drink, in which weird drops were splashed into and caused a wave reminiscent of the drops that dropped into the puddle. In Sam's mind, the images blended. This was a memory, with his last bit of effort he made out, that his drink was spiked! Was this how he ended up here?
