This one isn't completely done yet, so I'll work to finish it later.
I fall over onto my back, and look up into the glittering, night sky. How did I even get here? I wondered. Then in an instant, it comes all back to me.
Earlier that day...
"Woohoo!" I shout, as me and my family get ready. Today we are going parasailing. If you don't know what that is, it's where you get on a boat, then the driver connects you to the parachute, and then you're floating in the air, with the boat pulling you. It's really fun, so I was super excited. I had everything packed. An extra set of clothes, in case I get wet, and a towel to dry myself off. I was ready.
We drove to Lake Okanagan, which is where our boat was. It was a little hard getting onto the boat, but I eventually got on. Once we were a little way into the lake, the driver got up to put the harness on us. I noticed that one piece of my harness was sticking out in a weird way. I tried to tell the driver about it, but he didn't hear me. Then the next thing I knew, I was in the air.
It was awesome! The air blowing into my face, and being so high up. I looked down and saw the boat zooming as fast as it could. I closed my eyes and exhaled, when suddenly, I heard a rip. I looked up, and saw that the piece that was supposed to connect me to the parachute was loose. At any moment it could snap. I tried waving around my hands to get the driver's attention, but he didn't see me. If that wasn't bad enough, waving around just made it worse. I tried telling my parents, but my voice was drained by the waves crashing into each other. The rope finally snapped, and I dropped into the water below.
I tried swimming to the boat, but the boat was going too fast. I could tell my parents were trying to alert the driver, but he was focused. Suddenly a current picked me up and was pulling in the opposite direction of the driver. There was a big rock poking out of the water, and I was heading straight towards it! I tried moving but it was too hard. I braced myself for the worst and...
I found myself on an island. I didn't remember anything, and my head was pounding with pain. I sat up, and looked at my surroundings. A bunch of seaweed and a few sticks. I touched my head, and saw blood on my fingers. I decided to dry off some seaweed on my clothes (which were also wet) to wrap around my head. After I did that, I tried to stand up, but fell back down. I was really dizzy, and thought my ankle was twisted. I layed down, looked into the sky. How did I get here, and how will I get back? I closed my eyes, and all my memories came back to me.
