Hiiiii! I hope you all are having a wonderful day. Just a quick disclaimer before you read, all TVD and Originals characters, such as names, personalities and plots belong to Julie Plec and the other wonderful executive writers or producers of the TVD show. But otherwise most of the plot belongs to me as well as the characters Luna and Maeve. This book really won't be following the original story line strictly, so if you looking for a play by play, sorry. But it will definitely incorporate the characters and some ideas from the original story as we get deeper into the plot.
Anyways, I also wanted to let y'all know to any meanies, if I find out you copied or reposted my ideas without asking I will report you, please if you want to borrow an idea or repost this story on your own account just ask, I promise to consider it, but please don't go ahead and take my ideas on as your own. It's so frustrating as a writer for others to take your work without giving proper credit to others who are owed. Oh and no bullies will be tolerated so if I see it, I'll delete it and you'll be reported; just a warning for those kiddies.
Anywho, I love you all and I don't know what you're doing on my story but I hope you love it just as much as I loved writing it.

Chapter 1: A Wedding Rehearsal for the Century.
*********

Red Roses and White Azaleas were always Maeve's favorite flower. Ever since we were young girls running through flower fields of 6 foot grass and dandelion meadows. It is no surprise that I stand here with such a contrasting bouquet in my hands as I ran towards the brides dressing room.

Today, was Maeve's wedding, a consummation of love and wealth to support M's even grander love match; a man just as stubborn and honest as Maeve always seemed to be. And as M's best friend, I had the pleasure of venturing thousands of miles to be here for the special occasion as her maid of honor. When M called me weeks ago, in the giddy stupor I'm used to, it was no surprise that Nik had finally found the balls to propose to my love stricken friend after four years of constant overbearing feelings that those two held for one another. By no means were they the perfect pair but no one could deal with that man's temper tantrum's quite like Maeve and it helped that they both followed the other like a love sickened puppy.

So here I am, away from Richmond for the first time since starting medical school, for the only possible thing that could keep me away from my education, my best friends love life. And I'm late to the rehearsal dinner because of a stupid fucking flower order.

*********

I pushed open the cream colored door to Maeve's dressing room, as the sound of light conversation patters through the wall. An embarrassed flush fell upon my face as five ladies turned to my unannounced arrival with blankness. To avoid confrontation, I moved forward gracefully dropping the box of flower bouquets to the nearest table and scratching my nose in nervousness.
" LUNES"
Resounded throughout the small room.

As a blonde bubble dashed towards me, her arms slight and her smile wide, Maeve hugged me so. Her sent was familiar of home, and as I relaxed into the tight embrace, it brought back fond memories of the past.

Seconds later, my slightly shorter friend let me go and inspected my face with that same knowing glint as if the best possible things were meant for me in the moment.
The silence lagged for a welcomed second before M began blabbering on about how much she missed me, and to very bluntly put it, was dying without me; to the bemusement of the other ladies in the room.

Soon enough, to my amusement, Maeve began introducing me to the other ladies in her party. Two beautiful blondes, whom were both clearly related to Nik stood to the right of me with full excitement for what's to come upon their faces. M introduced them as Rebekah, the party planner and Freya—who seemed rather reserved in comparison to Rebekah's wonderment—the officiant. On Maeve's other side sat two brunette women of quiet reserve, whom both, I immediately realized were not as open as the blond relatives. The shorter of the two who sat farthest from the group was introduced as Davina, a sweet girl who was in a committed relationship to Nik's youngest brother, Kol. Davina blushed slightly as the rest smiled widely at the gesture. The last of the group and the tallest, stared at me as Maeve introduced her, Hayley was a friend of Maeve's from her last two years of College here in New Orleans. They dormed together during a tough spot in M's relationship and have been good friends ever since.
I smiled slightly at each of them as Maeve introduced me as Luna, the maid of honor and a close friend since birth; before welcoming me in with a tug into the room as she walked to her previous spot. Maeve resumed her light makeup and conversation with Hayley as I watch from behind the seat in silence before Rebekah offered me the chair on the other side of M and began a conversation with me.
"So, did you bring a plus one?"
I turned to face the doe-eyed women and shook my head.
"No, I only have time for my work"
I took a breath in as I let my words linger before continuing.
" it remains my love and passion."
Rebekah stared at me for a solid thirty seconds scrutinizing me as well as my words, before replying with a tantalizing eye and fond expression" You remind me of my favorite brother."
I stared at her in disbelief, before she turned away and began inspecting the papers in front of her as she applied her makeup.
Beside me, Maeve let out a loud snort, as she laughed at the idea, internalizing it with knowledge of a person I was unaware of.
M smiled at me with one of her crazed smirks before cheekily replying, "I could not say it better myself."
I turned to my closest friend in curiosity and slight annoyance of this unknown person they had the gal to compare me to, especially M. I shot her a look of pure disbelief, but all she did was shake her head fondly and reply, "What? Don't look at me like that!" M's smile grew. "You devote yourself to your medical education and he dedicates himself to his family." Maeve shrugged slightly before standing up to dress herself in her rehearsal gown.
As she walked away, I thought out loud in bewilderment.
"What?"
Hayley butted in, too quickly to be normal, "They mean Elijah—Klaus's other brother, my date, and the best man." She smiled at me, far too practiced to be genuinely.
I smiled back but began thinking as the girls around me continued getting ready.
Just as I began to drift off into thoughts of medicinal value, an older lady popped her head in to let us know we had five minutes before the rehearsal would begin.
I grimaced at the thought but quickly got distracted by Maeve, who yelled out for me to help her with the zipper.

I had never met any of Maeve's family from New Orleans, honest to god, all I'd seen is a fleeting sight of her boyfriend when we faced time each week. But I welcomed the unfamiliar territory that enclosed around me as I looked to each side of the hallway. I reminded myself that I was here for Maeve, as I stood silent with chatting people all around me. The way everyone knew each other, the aura they all held that symbolized a bond I was not a part of. My thoughts wandered away as I realized the depreciation I had fell into, I tried to be happier as I zoned out from the chatter in the hallway and thought of Eli.

Eli, was my companion and my sacred safe space, Maeve did not now of him, no one did; I did not allow myself to share something so intimate and risky; especially with how much dedication I had for my work and school. But in the waking hours of the night when I realized that those I love were thousand miles away and I was alone, I had someone to turn too. I met him online upon a dating site my mom forced me to try, two years ago. No meetings where arranged, we both were to busy for that. He with his contract licensing business and I with my medical degree. I thought I would be scared of the mystery, the risk of not knowing who he is face to face but there's always been something about the way he writes, that is comforting and safe. I've never felt unsafe and he's never cared to find out anything more than just truly wanting to get to now me, as a person. I hope to meet him one—

My thoughts were cut off quickly as I was shook and my glass slipped through my fingers, my eyes widened as I lost my balance but before I could slip. I was pulled to a chest, staring into warm brown eyes. I was brought out of my stupor by his voice offering apologies for running into me. I smiled slightly.

"Apologies Ms. Blake, I hope I caused you no harm."

His voice was as poised as his poster. I was confused by the giddiness within me to ridicule his mistake but also applaud him for bringing himself into my life.

STOP IT LUNA!! An alarm went off in my brain at the unfamiliar feeling but I quickly reminded myself of where I was and composed myself.

"I apologize, I was not expecting to get knocked off my feet so soon into the evening."

He smiled slightly, which seemed hard with his blank stare and eyes the twinkled with intelligence beyond his age. I stared at him for a minute enjoying his unusual smile.

Before we could continue and I could introduce myself to the mysterious man, Hayley made her way over to us in a jog.

"Elijah there you are darling I've been looking everywhere for you! Oh Luna, I see you've met my date, Elijah Mikealson."

She smiled proud like she had just become the wife of a president.

I stared at her, not knowing how to respond to her outright possessiveness.

Before the silence became too intense, Elijah, as he had now been named turned to me holding his hand out.

"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, darling."

I put my hand in his expecting a shake but he brought my hand to his lips and kissed it. My cheeks flushed before I responded letting a breath out.

"Luna, just Luna."

Oh and also don't be afraid to leave constructive criticism. I'd love to become a better writer throughout this process so please let me know if there is anything I can add to enhance the story or any grammatical changes that need to be made, thus far.
