Airports always make me happy. It has always been my dream to travel all around the world, get to know new cultures and eat exotic foods. For my 21st birthday, my parents decided to book me a trip to Rome.
I have always had a thing for Rome. I started to learn Italian ever since I was a teenager. My parents are Italians, and that just teased my curiosity for longer.
I put on the comfiest clothes I could find and decided to bring one more thing with me before I close all my luggage away; BUBBLES!
Bubbles was my first stuffed animal ever. Ever since I was a little baby, I never slept without Bubbles. He's very worn off, but he surely is very loved. And please stop judging me for sleeping with a teddy bear — I know you do the same. I smooth down its brown fur and clean off the scratches on its beaded eyes.
"LAURA DARLING!" I hear from across the house. I hear footsteps approaching the doorway to my room.
"I just wanted to let you know that we are leaving in fifteen minutes... so you better hurry".
I smile faintly at my mother while sitting on top of my luggage. I zip it closed and leave everything next to the garage door so we can finally get going. This is my first time seeing Rome, and I cannot wait. I have a great feeling about this....
