Taehyung stared at her, then lowered his eyes, clearly skeptical.
Seeing his reaction, Jisoo decided it was better to just tell him the truth. What could possibly go wrong? He might not believe her, but at least she would have told him. Maybe later, he'd believe it.
"Forget it! I'll tell you the truth," she said, averting her eyes to look at the vast sea before her. "I actually came from 10 years in the future, and in this world or timeline, I can only exist or live when you are around."
It's crazy how her teenage years revolved around him, and now, even 10 years later, it was the same.
Taehyung narrowed his eyes, trying to process the words coming out of her mouth. Jisoo glanced at him occasionally, reading his expressions as she continued. "I've tried many times, but if I am at a certain distance from you, my existence or my consciousness will jump to a time when you are near me."
"Take an example like, I will be at the school gate one second and in the classroom the next," Jisoo said, turning to face him, her eyes looking into his. "If you're not around, I can't go anywhere I want to, hell not even my own house. That's why I want to be by your side and sit at the same table as you," she finished, looking at him sincerely and praying he would believe this absurd situation.
Jisoo sighed at his lack of response. "I know it sounds crazy. I don't expect you to believe it right away. Just... please, bear with me. And if you ever feel like I'm acting strange, just remember this conversation."
His face clearly showed that he did not believe a word she spewed. "I think you should go back and get some rest," he said awkwardly before walking away.
'What was I even expecting?' Jisoo mentally facepalmed.
"Taehyung," she called after him, who just kept walking. "Kim Taehyung," she ran to catch up to him, "Just forget what I said, I was joking."

Next Day
Jisoo walked at a safe distance from Taehyung as they headed to school, all the while questioning what she ever saw in him.
"Maybe it was just his pretty face. I guess I was superficial," she thought, habitually pouting.
Suddenly, a girl appeared by her side, her classmate whose name she had forgotten, and chirped, "How is it like sitting with The Kim Taehyung?" nudging her teasingly.
"Must be dreamy," she added, clasping her hands together and daydreaming.
"Let me tell you—" Jisoo began but stopped herself. She wanted to say, "It's more of a reality check! Got me thinking why I even liked him before," but she settled on praising him instead, considering he was walking right in front of her.
