Ava POV
When we pull up to the house from our day out I park the car, and turn to see that Autumn is asleep.

'She is so fucking beautiful.'

I get out of the car and go to her side and open the door. "Hey Autumn." I say tapping her gently in a whisper. Her eyes slowly open as she looks at me. "Hi. We're home." I say softly.

She opens her eyes wider to look at her surroundings and looks at the house. She smiles and nods in acknowledgment.
I hold my hand out to help her out of the car.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. Let's get inside." I say still holding her hand and guiding her into the house. "Ma we're back!"

My mom walks out from the living room with a smile. "Good. How'd it go?" She asks Autumn.

Autumn nods with a smile. "Really good. I got enough clothes for the week and then Ava took us to get something to eat."

My mom looks at me with an approving smile. "I'm glad you had a good time." She says looking back at Autumn.

"Can I use the restroom?" Autumn asks.

"It's right down the hall, last door on the right." I say pointing. Autumn smiles and heads to the bathroom. My mom turns to me and the smile that was once there is solemn. "What's the plan ma? She can't go back there and she can't go to a hotel he has access to her accounts."

My mom looks at me worried with her hand on her head and one on her hip. "She'll have to stay with us for a little while til we can get a trial started."

I lean against the door. "That's if she even decides to testify against the guy. They usually don't." I say trying to keep my voice down.

My mom nods. "Yeah I know. Hopefully the time she spends here will give her clarity that she doesn't want to be in that environment anymore and by then I'll have a trial started."

I lazily nod. "Where would she sleep?"

"Probably your dad's office. You guys upped it with a bed and bathroom. And that way she's not sleeping on a couch." She gave me a raised eyebrow.

I chuckle. "She said she was comfortable."
Our conversation comes to a halt when Autumn comes back from the restroom.
'She's subtly beautiful. She literally doesn't have to try.' She comes back and looks at me with a smile. I think she noticed how I was looking at her. Then her eyes divert to my mom as they talk. I can't really hear it because I'm not paying attention to it. I'm just taking in the presence of this gorgeous woman.

"Good bring her bags in, Ava."
My mom's demand breaks my thoughts and stares.

"What?"

"Autumn agreed to stay here for the time being. So go get her bags out of the car and take them to your dad's office." My mom says dragging Autumn to the kitchen to continue the conversation. Autumn looks back at me from her shoulder and that sent me in another daze that I don't realize I'm following them into the kitchen not taking my eyes off her.
What is she doing to me?

"Ava?!" Autumn raises an eyebrow towards me and diverts my attention to my mom looking at me with a tilted head. "Go get her stuff! What are you doing Mija?"

I see Autumn drop her head to hide her smile. "Sorry ma. Just got distracted."And I walk out to the car to grab her bags. I walk back in and head straight to my dad's office. The mahogany and cigar smell still filled the room. I drop the bags by the walk in closet and take the familiar room in.

"I miss you dad."

"Are you ok?" I turn to see Autumn standing at the door leaning on the frame.

I nod solemnly but assuring. "Yeah I'm ok. I just haven't really been in here much. I'm sure you'll love it though."
