You were running around frantically, (h/c) hair a mess, and crazed (e/c) eyes. No matter where you looked you could not find it. The stupid key to your closet. Which held the present for your mother's birthday.

You lived alone in a village within Wall Rose. Even if you were lonely sometimes, you loved it here. It was quiet and peaceful most of the time, which was something you never got when you were at home in Trost. Tomorrow was your mother's birthday, so you were frantically searching for the key to her present. Which was  no where to be found.

Finally giving up, you threw your head down onto a random pillow on your couch and screamed. It was so frustrating, every time you seemed to need something it oh-so-conveniently disappeared. After a while of violently screaming into the pillow, you decided to calm down and simply get a new present for your mother. Even though you only had enough money for the one you had already bought. The money you had left over was supposed to go towards food.

You irately straightened the skirt of your (f/c) dress and put your shoes on before heading out of the door to your destination: a small shop on the other side of town. It wasn't that long of a walk and their were many other people out with their children due to the nice weather. You glanced longingly at the small things, wishing you had a family. But it was currently impossible, seeing as you can't even find a guy that gave you the time of day.

When you arrived at the shop, you waved a greeting at the clerk, Gary. He smiled and waved back, before going back to whatever business he was attending too. There were a few people, nonchalantly shopping around. You simply ignored them and carried on to your task: finding a new present for your mother.

You explored the small displays and aisles, finally finding something fitting for your mother. It was currently the beginning of autumn, the leaves just beginning to darken. You found a simple knitted gray scarf with tassels at each end, that seemed warm and cozy for the upcoming winter. You grabbed the item, walking it up to the counter to leave with Gary.

"Can I leave this with you while I grab some other things?" You asked him. He glanced up at you and smiled.

"Of course, (f/n)." You returned the smile.

"Thanks, Gary." You turned around and went to the tea section. When you were nearing the set of shelves, you being your clumsy self, tripped on the leg of a nearby table. You were sent headfirst into some guy that was unfortunate enough to be in the path of your fall. Not only did you fall, but the guy did also.

You immediately began to apologize, standing up and brushing imaginary dust off of your skirt. Looking at your victim, you noticed he wasn't that bad looking. He was actually really cute. You were blushing before, but you were blushing even more at the observation. A raven-colored undercut, dull onyx eyes, a stoic expression and short stature. You noticed he was still on the ground, with an expecting expression on his face.

"Oh! Sorry." You blushed even more as you reached your hand out to help him stand back up. He glared at you before saying anything.

"Oi, woman. Watch where you're going next time. I'm all dirty now."

"I'm s-sorry." You stuttered while staring at the floor.

"Tch, whatever." With a click of his tongue, and a roll of his eyes, he was gone. You still stood there, a blushing mess trying to figure out what had just transpired. When you finally collected yourself, you grabbed a tin of black tea and headed back to the counter to check out. You set the tin on the counter before grabbing your remaining money and spilling it on the counter.

"What are you doing?" Gary looked at you in confusion. One of your brows raised in your own bout of confusion.

"What do you mean, what am I doing? I'm paying for my things."
