Chapter 10

Ava pov

I woke up at 6 and went for a run. I've been doing this for the past 2 weeks since the conversation with Autumn. She hasn't really been talking to me unless it's to let me know my mom has left for work or she needs to go somewhere that requires her to spend money. I hate not talking to her but it's for the best. I feel like we'd only grow to either love each other or hate each other if we continued to talk. And I'd rather us be neutral. Her case has been going well. I think we're nearing the end but I'm not sure. I still can't believe that asshole got a lawyer. He hasn't shown up to Marcus studio though so hopefully he got the message.

When I get done running it's 7 and I run into my studio to shower. Unfortunately for today I can't relax. It's the day I take the pieces to the client. I finished the fifth one just last night. I was struggling to tie it all together. Rachel left and has been updating. I think she likes it there. Liz is back in town after her success in Vegas so we all hung out getting blacked out drunk at Mayas. Autumn joined and it's a little awkward but we like her in the group. Especially Marcus since he's the only black one in the group he said we needed more diversity but yet he's still the only guy. But after a couple of days I finished and it all came together. Hopefully the guy likes it.

After I get out of the shower, I put on a silk black button up that hugs my muscles, gray dress pants and black loafers with silver accents on the top. I pair it with black LV belt, silver rings, and diamond earrings.
After I'm dressed, it's 8:30 and I head to the main house to prepare breakfast.

I put on my apron. Fold my sleeves up to my elbows and wash my hands along with the fruit for the açaí bowls I was going to be making since I didn't have time to sit and I'm sure my mom had to be at the office early today to meet with the assholes lawyers again to discuss potential legal actions.

When I finish making the bowls I put them in the fridge and I sit at the island playing against Marcus on Monopoly Go while I eat mine. "This asshole stole my hotel!" I said in frustration.

"Can you not scream so much? It's too early." Autumn said, appearing in front of me drinking a cup of coffee, dressed in a burgundy shirt sleeved turtleneck and a black pencil skirt. I can't see her shoes but it's definitely hills because her eyes are meeting mine in level. Her hair is down with a silver hair accent that wraps her dreads.

"You look beautiful. And I apologize. Marcus is being an asshole." I say playfully.

She shakes her head and chuckles. "Thank you all well from what he told me yesterday when he dropped me was that you've been blocking him from buying anything and you were the asshole. So he said he was going to hit you while you slept." She said with a smirk behind her cup.

"Wow. So you guys are conspiring against me?" I said grabbing my chest like I'm distraught.

"Well you started it." She said laughing. "What did you make for breakfast today?"

"Açaí. They're in the fridge. Don't take them out until you are ready to eat them." I said going back to playing the game.

"Thanks."

I looked up at her with a raised eyebrow. "Can you please stop thanking me? I told you, you don't have to." She didn't say anything, she just nodded and her eyes traced my upper body for all she could see.

I smirked at her not so subtly checking me out. Can't be mad I was doing it too. We still flirt now and then. It's kinda hard when we're attracted to each other but we try to keep it calm. With quick glances or comments. Marcus thinks we should fuck already. Liz smacked him for that and Maya thinks we should wait til after the case. If there will actually be a case. Autumn hasn't made up her mind about testifying yet and it's upsetting me. But it's not my decision. I just hope he stays away from her after this is all done. Not just for my sake but for hers. She deserves to be free from him.
