Akio was sitting at the doctors office with her parents. A few weeks ago she was here to do something? She wasn't really paying attention to what her parents said the reason was. All she knew was she had to answer some questions and got to play. Her mom seemed more quiet than normal which confused her but she didn't question it. Sometimes people don't want to talk, that's what her parents told her.
After about a ten minutes of sitting in the waiting room, they got called to the back. Akio felt her father grab her hand and walk her over to office. They all sat down in the chairs and the doctor came in. He looked at the family and then his notepad. "You are Tanaka Akio's parents, correct?" He asked calmly as her mother nodded. "Yes, I'm her mother and he's my husband." The doctor nodded before speaking calmly. "Well your daughter does have many signs of being on the autism spectrum. She has sensory issues, she got overstimulated even in our screening, she can't understand emotions and tones. She may need more help than other people."
That's when Akio got lost in thought. Autism..? What's that..? Is it bad? Mom and dad aren't smiling so it isn't good. Is it my quirk? why will I need more help? Then she felt her mother grab her hand which snapped her out of her thoughts. She followed her parents to the car and heard them whisper to each other. Her dad helped her into her car seat and he went to the drivers seat. Her parents were still whispering while driving.
They got to the park and Akio's father got out of the car. He helped her out of her seat. "Come on, you can go play for a bit." He said as he walked her over to the playground. Akio smiled brightly as she skipped next to him. Maybe it was a good thing! They never went to the park! Akio was playing when her dad looked at her. "Okay sweetheart, I forgot something in the car, I'll be back in a bit, okay?" He told her and she looked over and nodded. "Okay dada!" She said before playing. She saw her dad walk to the car but then turned to keep playing.
As she played, it started getting darker and more and more kids started leaving. Akio realized her dad should've said it was time to go by now. She looked around and didn't see her parents car. She was confused and scared. She didn't like the dark. "Dada?" She called out as she started walking around to find him. After a bit, she got tired and sat down. She saw some people walk passed her without saying anything but after a bit, she saw a police car pull up.
The officer walked over and knelt down in front of Akio. "Hey honey. Where are your parents?" She asked as Akio looked at the floor. "I don't know, I'm sorry." She said quietly. She assumed she was in trouble. The police officer thought for a moment before getting up. "Come on, Ill take you to the station." She said before taking Akio to the car. Akio ended up falling asleep on the drive. A few days later, she was taken to an orphanage
Akio was sitting outside in the yard of the orphanage. She was seven now, it had been two years. She didn't have many friends here. She found out what autism was though. The caretakers treated her like a baby for a while so she began to try to do as much as she can to prove she was normal and can take care of herself. She would hide any time a clothing felt too itchy or a sound was too high or a food was too slimy until she broke down. She needed to be normal.
She was pulling on the grass as the caretakers came over. One looked at Akio and spoke in a calm tone, at least she wasn't in trouble. "Akio, go to your room and get your things then come to my office." Akio was confused but she nodded and went upstairs. She went to the room she was sharing with a bunch of other people. She grabbed a bag and her clothes before going down to the office. She went into it and immediately noticed a man with long black hair and a man with long blond hair. "Are you a girl?" Akio asked. She didn't see it as rude and she didn't know when to be quiet. The man with the blond hair laughed loudly as the caretaker apologized for Akio's behavior
The caretake looked at Akio. "These two are going to be your new parents. They're heroes." Akio's eyes widened. She always had an interest in heroes. That's when she recognized them. She pointed at the one with dark hair and said," Eraserhead?" She then pointed at the one with blonde hair. "Present mic?" She said and Eraserhead cracked a small smile. "Yes, you are correct. But you can call us Shota and Hizashi if you're comfortable with it."
Akio looked at the caretaker as she realized something. "Wait, I'm leaving?" She just realized that the caretaker said they were her new parents. She didn't want to leave! Sure she hated it here but it was normal, routine. This is new. The caretaker smiled and nodded, not noticing Akio's inner panic. "Yep. You're going to live with them. They're able to help you with your issues." She said. Akio hated this. She just wanted to go to the tv room and watch her favorite show again before going to bed. That's how today was supposed to go.
She wasn't paying attention when she felt someone grab her arm and she started screaming, having a full on meltdown. She didn't notice anything going on besides someone trying to pin her down, the person getting yelled at(?), and then someone speaking softly. Their voice was kind of gruff and she began calming down. She then began to realize what happened. She wiped her face and expected to be yelled at. "I'm sorry..." She said softly but Eraserhead smiled slightly. "It's okay kid. Let's get you home." He said.
The rest of the night was a bit of a blur. She remembered getting her knew room which she was allowed to decorate, seeing the house, unpacking but it was small foggy bits. But she felt safe here.
it had been 7 years since then. She was 14 years old. She came home from her school to see a random boy in her living room. "Who are you?" She asked with a small glare. Why was there a random boy. She then realized he was in a UA uniform. So that meant he was probably one of her dads' students. The boy frowned and looked at her. "Mr. Aizawa just adopted me, who are you?" Akio's eyes widened as she looked around and yelled. "Dad!" She yelled and Shota came into the living room.
"Who is this?" She asked. Aizawa frowned as he looked at her. "I told you that I was adopting a brother for you." Akio looked at the floor as she realized she forgot they had that conversation. She looked over at the boy and took a deep breath. "I'm Akio." She said, fidgeting with her fingers as the boy nodded. "Hitoshi Shinso. I'm assuming your my sister?" To which she nodded.
Akio was invited by her father to visit the UA dorms which confused her as she was till in Junior High but she came. She saw her dad with a young girl and immediately Akio smiled. Her dad told her about a young girl he was trying to save. She mouthed to Shota, asking if that was here. Then, Shota nodded Akio smiled a bit more. "Hi, Eri. I'm going to be your older sister. I'm happy that I finally got to meet you. Mr. grumpy head was being mean and didn't let me meet you yet." She said, chuckling a bit. She always loved little kids, they're so adorable
