The Offspring of Dragons

Plot

Aidan is the son of a dragon, Tyson, and a human, Lucylla a witch.

Tyson is not just a dragon, but the Leader of the drakonic species.

Aidan was abandoned by his father to a dragon hunter named Dancan after his mate was killed by humans.

Aidan is  half-dragon, half-human, a Druma.

He becomes a hunter like his adoptive father with the intention of restoring peaceful coexistence between the two species to which he belongs.

After the disappearance of several women abducted by dragons, Aidan decides to venture to the village where these disappearances seem to have occurred most frequently; Dachaigh nan Dragons.

In this village where he hopes to find work and solve the mystery of the disappearances, Aidan meets a blacksmith named Marcus and his helper named Martin.

The blacksmith was a Highest, one of the oldest and most powerful dragons who has now taken human form to remain incognito and protect his mate, Cerridwen a witch who specializes in healing and her daughter, Ember.

The Highest are dragons who can transform into humans and begin a relationship with a woman. The bond that joins male dragons to their females is unique and occurs as an imprinting. There is only one mate for a dragon. From the union between a dragon and a female, rarely, a Druma is born.

Marcus gave up his drakonic form through a ritual performed by a witch named Shyla, known as the Natrix Witch.

Shyla, Cerridwen and Lucylla knew each other from childhood and were somehow predestined to become the companions of the most powerful dragons in existence.

Shyla is a witch capable of having visions of the future. It will be Shyla herself, together with her companion, a water dragon, a Natrix, who will restore Marcus's dragon form and help Aidan and Ember during their transformation phase. A Druma, in fact, remains only in human form until it reaches maturity or has imprinting. After that, changes occur that lead them to take dragon form as well. A Druma can live in both forms for a long time.

Aidan will find his mate in Ember, discover that she is a Druma, and together they will unravel the mystery of the abduction of women by dragons.

Behind it all is a dragon named Lucius, another Highest, who wants revenge on the men for the killing of his dragon partner and the son. Lucius caused Lucylla's death at the hands of humans after Tyson ignored his call for indiscriminate revenge against humans. Convinced that he had also killed Marcus, who at that time was known as Darius, he continued his vengeful crusade with the intention of extinguishing humankind by starting with the killing of females.

No females, no children, hence extinction.

In the fight against Lucius, Aidan will have to decide whether to become the Leader of his species and fight to reconcile humans and dragons.
