Naina and Prem

Prem is finally coming home after two years, he's coming back with his family to spend his vacation just like always, but this time is going to be different Naina thought as she prepared Prem's room, decorating it with his favorite white curtains and flowers, she looked into each thing with utmost care.

Background/flashback

Prem and Naina were relatives, not close but Prem and his parents visited Naina and her family at least once a year, making their relationship a close one .

Prem's maternal great grand dad and Naina's maternal great grand mom were siblings.

Prem's grandparents were no more hence they visited Naina's grand mom, as she was the elder of their family.

Prem and Naina played, fought, and grew up together. Prem was three years older to Naina, the age gap was never a hindrance to their relationship, in fact it made it stronger.

In her tough times Naina would share her worries to Prem and he would patiently listen to her and give her meaningful advice.

Naina had many cousins, but most of them were younger to her. Hence when Prem visited she would cling onto him.

Always the day of return would be a ruckus at home, once they hid in a room when the time for departure neared, once they both cried their lungs out making Naina sick, once they got wet, making both of them sick.

The last time Prem came, two years back, since Prem was busy with his studies, was one of the best memories Naina had, Naina tried baking a cake and it didn't turn out too well she went to Prem and began whining, Prem consoled her by hugging her as usual, and rubbing soothing circles on her back.

They both were in the end of their adolescence with their hormones raging.

Prem found her whining cute , he pinched her cheek and took her to the kitchen to bake a cake.

Prem started noticed the way in which she spoke, her eyes and hands telling a story of its own, he noticed the way she smelt after her bath, he started to realise how beautifully she had matured. When she took care or scolded her younger cousins, he felt warmth overwhelm him.

Prem felt tingles of heat when she brushed her hand against his. All these things they have been doing for all the past years, but this time was different, Prem started to dream of a future with her together. His heart beats raced when she was near him, he longed to hold her in his arms.

Once when Naina was talking with her neighbour guy and laughing about something, Prem could feel jealousy creep into him, he wanted to be the one with whom Naina smiled.

He went up to them and slung his arm possessively around her shoulder, after a few minutes they came into their home.

One night when they were sitting on a bench in the terrace alone, Prem asked Naina about what she would like her marriage to be to which she replied that she would like to have a loving family with a decent living, that she must be able to love her husband and together double their joys.

Prem saw the twinkle in Naina's eyes as she told him, he stood up "everything is ready, all you have to do is to love me " Prem said and stood with his hands wide open, Naina looked at him questioningly.
