Paul Laurence Dunbar Elementary School

Untitled Part 1

Me and my family came from Iraq people think we're bad but we're not we came to phx az for a new start

My mother is in jail for the rest of her life and we're left with my dad now

Me and molly and Austin are going to a new school call Dunbar elementary school
I'm going to fifth grade Austin is going to six and molly to seventh
I wonder if I'll make friends or a best friend bad thing is I don't know how to read we moved into an apartment of three rooms one room for me and Molly.

Another room for Austin and the other one for my dad
We finish unpacking and tomorrow is Monday that means new school I hope I don't get bullied again and I hope they don't judge me because I'm from Iraq or because I'm kinda emo.

The next day

My dad woke us up at six after it was 8:20 he went and left us at school with five minutes left
"I'm scared"I said in Arabic
"We're not"molly and Austin said then kids we're coming we went inside the cafeteria to get breakfast I saw a girl with very curly hair walking with another girl with straight hair.

I grab a plate with mini pancakes and an apple and milk

Story break

I went and line up and saw the two girls I saw some kids were looking at me weird but I kept my head down

"Hi my name is Max"I heard a voice say I look up and saw the girl with very curly hair looking at me with a friendly smile

"Hi...I'm ZJ"I said as I smiled back then a boy came he was an African American
"Hi I'm T"he said and smiled at me
"ZJ"I said back
"Cool name wanna be friends?" Max said as I nodded
"What grade are you guys in?"I said.

"We're both in fifth grade and we're both friends"T said
"Cool I'm in the same grade"I said.

Story break

We three sat down together at lunch and in class they were funny and friendly that was until a girl came up to us and both Max and T glared at her

"New kid I guess you're one of the losers now"she said as left laughing
I look down at my food
"Ignore Alisha she's always like that to us but your cool to us zj"Max said as I look up and smiled.

"Yeah Max is right plus she's always like us I'm surprise they haven't kicked her out of school"T said as he took a bite out of his cheese burger.

Story break

We were outside playing mythical animals I was a werewolf and so was Max and T was a Phoenix

Max let out a howl that sounded so like a Wolf

"Wow that sounded awesome!!"I said
"I agree how did you do that?!"T said
"I don't know...I can also bark"Max said as she barked
I clapped
"That's so cool!!"I said
"I can make thus noise"I said as I made a noise.

"That's a dolphin...stupid"we look back and saw that girl name Alisha again
"Leave her alone mix she's from Iraq will you give her some slack its not like she's going to know everything like that!"max said as she snapped her fingers at the last part.

"May I remind you cross over I'm more stronger then you why don't you three go back from where you guys came from!"she said
"We're from her stupid"T said
"Shut up weirdo well she isn't from here why don't you go back from where you came from because you're probably going to bomb us!"Alisha said the last part hurt.

"Shut up you...you...meanie"I said through it didn't sound as tough as I thought it did

Then she started laughing
"You're much an idiot *laughs*
You got to be stupid"she said and left I crying into the building I ignored the calls of Max and T.

I got in the restroom and cried in the corner I heard the door open I look up and saw Max she came running and gave me a hug
"There there I know how you feel trust me I've been there for the last year and months"she said
"Why are you so kind to me?"I said while crying
"Because I have a big heart but it seems like the ones with good hearts are the ones that always get hurt the most"she said as she looked down but then back at me with a smile.

"That is right plus I think everyone's going to laugh at me when I have to read"I said as I look back down to my hands
"Why?"max said
"B-b-because I don't know how to read I know how to talk English but don't know how to read or write I was just coping what mrs. Dolphons was writing on the board"I said
"Its ok me and T will teach you and if he can't then I will and will do I promise"she said as she got up and gave me a hand I took it and she helped me up through I was at least two or three inches bigger then her.

"Come on we have computer lab next you can sit next to me and T if you like"she said as we walk outside of the bathroom and to the hall she drank some water then I did.

"Sure plus you two are my only friends"I said as we got in line with everyone else

Story break

I was sitting in between of Max and T and Mrs.Paul was pucking kids to read I kept hoping for her not to pick me
"Alright next to read is...ZJ"

'Oh great'

"Um...I...I...I can't"I said as I look down to my hands
"Why not?"she said I felt everyone's eyes on me I look around and saw Alisha whispering to a boy and he started laughing.

"I...I...can't read because I don't know how to read"I said as tears started to form everyone started laughing except for Max and T
"Leave her alone!!"Max yelled as she got up on her chair
"Max sit down"the teacher told Max but she wasn't listening
"Will you all stupid kids leave her alone you guys are all dumb because when you get things taken away you started crying over it so leave her alone before I make you!!!"she yelled at thus point standing on the computer desk.

Story break

School was finally over Max got detention and has to pick up the trash in the cafeteria for the next three days which I thing it's unfair just because she stood up for me
I really don't get this country then again everywhere I go now in days is starting to turn the same........
