So mui got closer with the other hashira after remembering his past and one of the ones he spent a lot of time with was mitsuri.
He started to call her Sakura bc her hair looked like Sakura mochi.
She found it funny but obanai (being how he is) thought mui was making fun of her. So he "stood up" for her whenever mui talked to her.

he spent the most time with gyomei bc he was sort of a father figure towards mui.
He started to call gyomei sir or mister bc he felt a need to be formal and respectful to him bc mui did respect him. A LOT.
but once mui called gyomei dad and he was embarrassed. They laughed about it and some times mui still called him dad.
