I woke up cold sweat dripping from her face. I couldn't stop thinking of the bloody corpse. I slowly snuck out of my room into the washrooms. I stopped as I saw Ellie splashing her face trying to clean something. "Oh hey, Ellie." I grinned stepping up to her. "Oh... Hey Sandra are you okay? You seemed a little out of it yesterday." Ellie said turning off the sink and drying her hands on her dress.
"Yeah... I've just been thinking. What if we didn't take the pills..." I asked my hands shaking "DON'T!" Ellie whisper yelled grabbing me by my shoulders. "Whatever you do. Do NOT stop taking the pills." Ellie said her head pounding.
"W-what?" Ellie put her hand on my shoulder, and I gasped stumbling backward. "Y... Your.... Your arm... Its..." I mumbled steadying myself against the door. Ellie stepped forward hiding her arms behind her dress. "What... What happened?" I asked looking at the thin scars covering her arms.
"I... I stopped taking the pills.... And... I learned some things... Please promise me you won't stop taking them." Ellie said. "So that was what was on your cheek... But what did you find out?" I asked hugging Ellie. "I haven't taken them for... maybe a month now. But don't... That bloody girl from before is what happens if you stop taking them." Ellie said,
"Now go back to your room before someone gets suspicious." Ellie whispered pushing me out the door and into the hallway. A bell chimed I stepped into the line with Lilly and Cass pretending nothing had happened. They walked silently forward towards the window. Cass walked forward and took the pill. Cass walked past and I walked up to the window setting my hands on the sill.
A small pill dropped into my hand, and I set it in my mouth hiding it under my tounge. I walked past acting like everything was normal following Cass into the documentation room. I sat down feeling strange. The dean walked in, and everyone sat down. "Hello, girls for the next few days we won't have etiquette classes. Please go to your dormitories and read over chapter 12." The dean said standing and leaving.
I walked slowly to my room in a daze following Lilly. "So... We have what an hour of reading?" She asked collapsing onto her bed "Yeah, I guess. If we actually do it." I shrug bored out of my mind. "Girl. We have to do it." She says rolling her eyes and opening her textbook. "Chapter 12 How to greet your guests Etiquete for the host." She pauses then continues "When you invite guests over to your humble home you must greet them sincerely." I blanked out for a second staring into space like a schizophrenic freak. I tune her out and look at the clock its almost 2 when she finally finishes reading the chapter.
"Okay, I'm done. I'm going to go hang out with Cass." Lilly said shutting the door behind her. I look out the window at the barren landscape. It starts to rain the rain hitting the window gently lulling me. For some reason I was oddly exhausted but then I heard a knock on the door. "Hello? Can I come in?" Ellie asked opening the door "Yeah I guess." I say and she sits by me on the bed. "What's this?" Ellie asked pulling the cracked pane of glass from the sheets. "No... NO SANDRA! DID YOU... SANDRA?!" Ellie yelled.
"No. Stop be quiet. I found it the first day I was here." I said holding her hand still. "Oh... Thank god. Whatever you do don't stop taking them... Please for me." She sighs and looks out the window at the soaked ground. "Hey. Did you actually read that chapter?" Ellie said laughing. "No. Lilly did and I spaced out." I giggled feeling high. "Well, it's almost 6 we should head down to the dining hall." we walked to the dining hall sitting down on the brown benches. The petite ladies come out delivering plates of gourmet steak.
We slowly stuff our mouths drinking the sweet water from our glasses. I stand up and walk with Lilly back to the room and she falls into bed. "I'm exhausted. Goodnight." Lilly said falling asleep. I stared at the celling for a while eventually falling into a peaceful sleep.
BANG!
I wake up to a door slamming shut. I look over at Lilly and she's peacefully sleeping. I open the door and see 8other girls standing outside looking at a red door. A shot is fired, and someone falls blood splattering. I bite my tounge to stop myself from screaming and slowly shut the door jumping back under the covers hiding as I hear shots go off. Suddenly they stop and I passed out on the bed from fear.
