✮The Other Side✮

(IS THIS CHAPTER A GREATEST SHOWMAN REFERENCE? Yes. Yes it is. 99% of the things they will say will be from the song)

The two men sat in the circus tent. G0Z was putting away some fire sticks and other props for the performance. 

' 'So. . what brought you here? After all these years, Tom?' ' G0Z put a hand to his hip as he looks at his old friend, Tom. 

' 'I didn't mean to come here, Annie. I just- somehow got here, okay?' ' Tom said, sitting in the seating area in the tent. G0Z rolled his eyes.

' 'Sure. .' ' G0Z mumbles, lifting the box of props into his arms and walking backstage. Tom stood up and followed.

' 'I'm just- so confused as to why you're here. The others never told me anything about what had happened to you, Anne.' ' Tom explained, stopping right before he went backstage. G0Z set the box down, turning to him.

' 'I'll give you a short summary. .' ' G0Z said, walking past Tom and motioning for him to follow. Which he did.

The two sat in the seating areas, simply chatting. G0Z thought it would be a great idea for Tom to join the circus. He'd love to have his best friend be apart of his circus! But Tom. . didn't think it would be a good idea.

' 'Tom, come on! It'll be amazing, you'll finally be able leave all that treachery! I don't wanna chase you down, but I know you see it.' ' G0Z tried to sound convincing, hoping Tom would decide to join. Tom however, didn't seem so convince.

' 'Annie. . no.' ' Tom was blunt. He didn't think it was a good idea.

' 'C'mon Tom! You can either stay in that cage your in, or take the key and join us!' ' G0Z exclaimed, standing up.

' 'Y'know, I enjoy the life you say I'm trapped in.' ' Tom said, also getting up. ' 'I got what I need and I don't wanna take that ride. No need to see the other side. I don't need to take the key.' ' Tom explained, putting his hands in his pockets as he began to leave the circus tent.

' 'But you could finally live a little, laugh a little!' ' G0Z followed Tom as he began walking. ' 'That's a deal that seems worth taking. But I'll leave that up to you. .' ' He stopped his walk and turned. Tom stopped for a moment. He thought before taking a breath in.

' 'Well. . it's intriguing, but to go would cost greatly. What would be my role? Better be someone important.' ' He turned to G0Z, smirking a bit. G0Z turned back. 

' 'Fair enough, you'd want a piece of it all. . My assistant? We could shake it and make it happen.' ' G0Z suggested.

' 'Nope, one of the main faces.' ' Tom took a few steps over. G0Z chuckled, taking a few steps closer as well.

' 'Maybe one of the booth holders?' ' G0Z suggested. Tom still refused to take that offer. After a good while of their bantering, G0Z gave in. He yelled out, ' 'FINE! A main face!' ' Their hands locked into a shake. Tom gave a smug look, which rubbed off on G0Z.

' 'I admire you and this whole circus, Annie. .' ' He said in a low tone, putting his hands into his pockets. G0Z rolled his eyes.

' 'So, If I do like you?' ' Tom began. G0Z crossed.

' 'If you do like me, maybe you'll stay. You know once you come in, there's no going back.' ' G0Z responded, tilting his head to his friend. Tom rolled his eyes.

' 'Guess I'm free to fly then.' ' He said as he stood on the rim of the arena. G0Z laughed and pushed him off. Tom exclaimed and fell to his back.

' 'Don't step on my property.' ' G0Z said jokingly as he lightly kicked Tom in his side. Tom grabbed him by his leg and pulled him down next to him. G0Z yelled out in surprise and fell down. The two laughed, just laying on the ground for a moment. They sat up soon after.

' 'You'll need a new name then, and I'm FAR too lazy to get Z00ZY at the moment,  so. .' ' G0Z began to think, leaning against the arena rim. Tom did the same. The two thought for a moment. 

' 'To0fErZ.' ' Tom said in a stupid voice. G0Z gasped, turning. ' 'THAT'S A GREAT NAME!' ' He exclaimed, shocking Tom for a moment. He fixed his glasses and backed up. ' 'Alright. .' ' He muttered.

After about 2 hours, G0Z had gotten T00FERZ (Tom) a new outfit for the circus. Something more bright and colorful, but not too overstimulating for the child's eye. G0Z also introduced T00FERZ to the other circus members. Surprisingly, T00FERZ was a little shy to meet them at first. YUKC0 Most definitely judged him, but the others didn't seem to hate him. He and SN00TZ got along great, in fact.

' 'Hey, Ann. .' ' Tom asks, sitting back to back with G0Z. ' 'Hm?' ' Annie questioned. ' 'Do you ever- y'know, miss your normal life?' ' Tom asks. Annie thought for a moment. He shook his head.

' 'Not at all. In fact, I quite like my clowny lifestyle. Brings me and others joy!' ' G0Z exclaimed, putting his hands behind his head. T00FERZ thought for a moment. ' 'Yea. . I see why.' ' 

The two were silent for a good moment before T00FERZ sighed. ' 'I think I'm gonna call it a night. Where do I sleep?' ' T00FERZ stood up. G0Z pointed to an area with tents. T00FERZ nods and walks off. ' 'Night Annie.' ' Tom waved. Annie waved too.

Eventually, G0Z went to sleep as well. Not right away. He did stay up for about an hour after he was supposed to go to sleep. (He's trying to fix his sleeps schedule) He just sat in bed for an hour, thinking. He's glad to finally have brand new people to share this life with. And now, he won't feel so lonely! He hoped that wouldn't offend Caroline and Clinton. . .
