The Alpha Gem《◇》

Legends

The trio slowly made their way into Aurora's house.
"Are you going to tell me exactly Why you were snooping around?",she asked. Will and Tora looked at Katelyn. Katelyn admitted defeat and sighed.
"You see, I was having a dream about a wolf from about a while back. I thought nothing of it but it's gotten a lot more realistic and it feels like I could touch it and feel it", Katelyn explained. Aurora looked deep in thought.
"It's happening...", she muttered. "What is happening?", Will asked.
"The curse. Follow me further", she answered as she pulled a secret door which went underground.
The underground room was majorly empty apart from a clay table and a few chairs at the very middle and a vaguely empty bookshelf with a stool beside it.
Aurora took out, what seemed like the only book, out from the shelf and opened it as she told her story.

"Around 2000 years ago, our island was ruled by merciless wolves. The head, who was called the Alpha of the pack, had a gem on his head. Legends stated that the gem contained magic, which the alpha used for itself. People of this island couldn't leave and if they did, they disappeared. They say that the wolves took 2 people every year as sacrifice to the alpha. But a brave man called Baro took up a few friends and went to slay the wolves, or die in the process", she explained.
"Did they succeed?", Tora asked. "We wouldn't be here if they didn't dear", said Aurora.

"One particular legend states that the Alpha was so enraged that he used all the power of his gem and created a curse that every person who turns 30 will dissappear as a vengeance. And 3 friends like Baro and his friends will break the curse and set the island free".

"And you think we're the ones?", Katelyn asked. "Yes". "But why?", Will asked. "Because no one else knew about the alpha or how he looked except the chiefs ", Aurora explained.
"It might've bee  a coincidence", Will argued. "Yeah, you've gotten the wrong people", Katelyn admitted, "We're not heros", she muttered.

Meanwhile Tora was looking at a vivid picture on the next page.

_Three were those who started the curse and
Three will be who will end it all.
Started be the blood of  Him,
It made the people sacred ;dispersed.

The rest of the page was torn.
"What is that?", Katelyn asked her.
"Don't tell me you're actually reading Tor",Will laughed. "No look", Tora said as she turned to book to show them. They read it and looked at Tora.
"That was the first legend I was telling you about", Aurora explained. The trio slowly nodded.

"We'll be on our way then", Will said as they made their way from Aurora's. They had unexpectedly stayed there till the evening. "I told you that it was a good idea to meet Aurora",Tora taunted. Will rolled his eyes as he said," Fine, I'll let you say I told you so".
"But it doesn't make sense ", Katelyn admitted. The others looked at her, confused. "I'm sure that the wolf looked somewhat hurt in my dream", she said. "So you know how to tell animals' feelings now?", Will asked sarcastically. "I just knew it Will! I'm not going mad...", Katelyn admitted. "We're all frustrated cause we have nothing in our systems. I'll go first to get some food. We'll meet up at our usual", Tora said as she started walking forward. She then stopped and turned around. "You two better apologize to each other before coming. Or you're not getting any food today", she warned. She then turned around again and started skipping to get food. Will and Katelyn looked at each other. "Sorry...", Will muttered. "It's fine", Katelyn grinned. "Your turn", Will said, crossing his arms. Katelyn acted as though thinking hard, grinned and ran away.
"Wait- Kay! My apology! Traitor!", Will shouted as he ran after her.
