Jung kook and y/n had been married for five years, and like any couple, they'd had their share of disagreements. However, the fight that erupted on that particular Friday evening was unlike any other they had experienced.
Jung kook had come home late from work again.y/n, already feeling neglected and frustrated by his long hours, was waiting in the kitchen. She had prepared his favorite meal, hoping to have a quiet evening together, but the food was cold, and the candles she lit had long since burned out.
"You're late again, y/n said, trying to keep her voice calm but failing to hide the hurt.
Jungkook sighed, loosening his tie as he walked into the kitchen. "I had a meeting that ran late, y/n. I told you this morning."
"You always have meetings, Jungkook. Every night it's the same story. I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one putting effort into this relationship," y/n retorted, her voice trembling.
Jungkook's expression hardened."That's not fair, y/n. I'm working hard for us, for our future. Can't you see that?"
y/n'seyes flashed with anger. "What future? You’re never here! When was the last time we did something together? When was the last time you even asked me how my day was?"
The argument escalated quickly. Jungkook, already exhausted from a long day, felt his patience wear thin."You think I want to be stuck at the office all day? You think I don't miss spending time with you? But someone has to pay the bills!"
y/n's face turned red with frustration. "It's not just about the bills, kook. It's about us. We're drifting apart, and you don't seem to care!"
Jungkook ran a hand through his hair, trying to control his anger."Of course I care , y/n. But we need to be practical. Love doesn't pay the mortgage."
y/n shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. "I don't want just a roof over my head. I want a partner, someone who’s there for me, who listens to me. Is that too much to ask?"
The room fell silent, the weight of their words hanging heavily in the air. Jungkook looked at y/n, seeing the pain and disappointment in her eyes. He realized then how much his absence had hurt her, how much he had taken her for granted.
"I'm sorry," Jungkook said quietly, his voice filled with remorse. "I didn't realize how much this was affecting you. I thought I was doing the right thing, working hard for us."
y/n wiped away a tear, her anger slowly melting into sadness. "I know you mean well, kook. But we need to find a balance. I miss you, and I need you here with me."
Jungkook stepped closer, taking y/n's hand in his."I promise I'll do better. We'll figure this out together, okay?"
y/n nodded, a small smile breaking through her tears."Together."
They hugged, holding each other tightly, both determined to make things work. The road ahead wouldn't be easy, but for the first time in a long while, they felt like they were on the same path, ready to face whatever challenges came their way.
