Chapter 1 || "Crush"

Y/n's Pov:

I'm Y/n,a girl from the cabin 7. I started coming to camp half blood a couple of weeks after percy,my bestfriend came. We bonded over our similar situations and have been best friends ever since.

"Y/n!" I hear a yell from the distance,i turn my head and see percy running towards me happily. I instantly smile. "Hey!" I beam. He approach's me laughing. I look at him a little confused,before i could ask why he came over to me he spoke. "So,grover and i are gonna go hang out at the lake..Wanna come?" He laughs nervously. My eyes widen surprised at his invitation,i immediately nod excitedly. "Of course!" I say a little too loud. I laugh awkwardly,and he does too. Percy suddenly grabs my hand tightly and walks with me to find grover,i zone out at the sudden touch. I always felt nervous when Percy held my hand,for some reason. Percy looks around confused "You know where grover is?" He then looks at me,noticing my dumbfounded reaction and gently with his other hand he wasn't holding my hand with,grabs my chin gently so i make eye contact. I immediately look at him with a forced smile trying to hide the obvious fact it made me blush. He smiles back and sighs "I guess grover's busy. Just me and you." He smiles,I laugh nodding but in my mind i was freaking out. What did he mean by just me and you? Was he flirting? I don't see him in that way..He's my best-friend! If i don't see him in that way he probably sees me as just a friend too! The sound of Percy's soft laugh immediately made me focus on him instead of my overthinking. He lets go of my chin and we head onto the lake path,he still held my hand tightly as we walked which i didn't pay much attention to since i was in awe of the beautiful lake path. "Percy! Look at how beautiful the lake is from afar!" I squeal. He nods grinning "Absolutely." His eyes softened as i rambled about random topics as we walked,i always felt like i could talk about anything to Percy and he never judged me. We finally arrive at the lake,i let go of Percy's hand and gently sit on the rocky gravel next to the lake. My hair breezed gently in the wind. Percy stood there watching me from behind for a couple of seconds,then sat next to me on the gravel. I gaze at him smiling "Beautiful,isn't it?" Percy nodded. I couldn't help but only stare at Percy's cute,golden,curls..Wait. Why am i thinking that way about my best-friend? I immediately look away from Percy when that thought came in my head. I gulp. I noticed small glances at me from Percy as i stared at the beautiful lake with trees in the distance. I felt a gentle touch against my finger,percy's finger gently nudged against mine. I blush looking at our hands almost touching then i look back at the lake. Percy turns his head to me with a sudden distressed look in his eyes. I tilt my head confused. He shouts out. "Y/n! I have to tell you something important!"

Important..? What does he mean..? I gulp. I force a smile nodding. "Yeah what is it?" He takes a deep breathe and opens his mouth to speak but is interrupted by the sound of a ruffle in the bushes. Percy and i quickly turn our heads to the direction of the sound. Percy slowly starts to reach for his sword,Riptide. But a satyr,Grover pops out of the bushes with his hands up shouting. "ITS JUST ME!" Percy immediately bursted out laughing. I laugh also,Grover stared at us confused. Percy chuckles "Wait,grover i thought you were busy?" Grover sighs. "Well..Yeah. Some kid needed help and i helped them but then i forgot we planned to go to the lake today..Sorry!" Grover laughs nervously. Percy smiles replying in a calm tone. "No worries." Percy's so perfect..What am i thinking?! Get it together Y/n! I sigh then my eyes widen remembering Percy was gonna tell me something. "Oh! Percy you were gonna tell me something,what was it?" Percy's cheeks immediately brighten. His expression surprised but nervous. He smiles "It's nothing..I'll tell you later." I shrug. "Alright!"
