ONE

You were studying for the midterm exam which is around the corner in your room. Your roommate, Yeri was not at home because she went out with her boyfriend. You are not fond of having a relationship while studying because it was not on your list.

"Areum, I'm going out with Jisung. Do you want something?" Jihyo, your housemate member said peeking her head in your room. You turn to her with a smile.

"Get me some cookies. Like usual, I'll transfer money later." You said as she nodded and closed the door. You back to revise but someone opens the door. You turn around and see Suzy, your senior.

"Aren't you going out with your boyfriend too? Your friends are already out with their boyfriends." She said while walking inside. She takes a sit on the bed and looks at the books on the table. You are indeed a bookworm.

"No. We both are busy and didn't have time to see each other." You said remember your 'fake boyfriend' that you have told them. To be honest, you have no boyfriend. You just made up his name.

"Seriously? I never saw him texting or calling you lately. It was hard to believe that he was your boyfriend. The picture of him... Don't you have his selfie pictures?" She asked making you a bit nervous but you trying to hide it.

"You know I drawing. This is the only way I can remember his beautiful face. The touch of his eyes and face, it nice." You said try to not make suspicious. Suzy just scoffed at your words.

"No wonder he loves you so much. You have a sweet mouth. Not seeing often might get him frustrated and will lead to the brokenhearted. Normally, a guy likes to get attention from his girlfriend." She said getting up from the bed and walking out of your room. As soon as the door closed, you sighed.

"Why did I have to lie? You dig your own grave, Areum. Serve you." You mumbles sighing at your fate. You look at the sketch on your table. To make it obvious, you frame it and keep it open for the other to see.

"Jisung went out with Jihyo again? Didn't he say they have a mid-term exam around?" Minho asked turning to see his other friends. Bangchan and Changbin were lying on the floor doing their own thing while Hyunjin was lying on the bed.

"You know him, Minho," Bangchan said and got up. He looks the elder on the bed.
"Aren't you saying you going to study with us too? When will you be enrolled in our campus?" He asked.

"Next month. I have a lot of things to sort out before transferring here. Until I got approved by my Dad to get an apartment near the campus." Hyunjin said while playing with the phone.

"I bet you will have a lot of girls with your face." Changbin said looking at the elder. Minho turn to Hyunjin and sigh.

"I think so. Why they don't look at me? I'm good looking too." He said.

"You are indeed but with your foul mouth, I also don't like it." Bangchan said getting a glare from the latter.
"You are perfect when you didn't say anything." He added.

"Are you guys studying or talking about girls? If you guys want to study, go ahead but if you guys want to talk about girls. The door is wide open. Excuse yourself." Hyunjin said. Minho just smirked when heard it.

"Why? Still thinking about the little girl in your dream?" He said teasing the elder. Hyunjin got up and threw the pillow at him.

"Can you stop it? She is not just a little girl. She saved my life." He said which makes Changbin curious to know about the girl.

"Who is she, hyung? Do we know her?" He suddenly asked. Hyunjin was a bit calm by the question. Her face was still blurry but she had a mole on her left ear. That's all he could remember. It's been 18 years since he saw her.

"I don't know either. It's happened a long time ago. If she is still alive, she might be around 21 or 22 years old." He said.

"How can you know her? What happened to you back then? Is that related to the scar on your arm?" Changbin asked again. Hyunjin looks at the scar on his left arm and smiles.

"Yeah. It was a wild cat. At that time, I was five or six years old. I ran away from my friends because they wanted me to do something bad. I had food in my hand and suddenly the cat came to try to snatch it. The cat trying to scratch me but I covered my face with my arm and this happened. A little girl suddenly came with a stick blocking the cat before hurting me again. You know, pretend to be a hero when she is also scared of cats. It's cute. But the cat ran away because her father came to us. He helped me to get treated. That is how I met her for the first and last time." He said a little bit sad.

"That like that? It was puppy love, hyung." Minho said pouting to hear the story. Hyunjin glared at him and scoffed.

"At least I have someone I like. Do you?" He asked back which made Minho taken back.

"I do but... She already has someone." Minho said looking away from the other. Hyunjin was surprised to hear that. He never knows if his brother has someone he is interested in.

"Who? Maybe we can help you." Hyunjin said which shocked him.

"Help me? I bet she will fall for you instead of me." Minho said. Hyunjin remains silent. He knows what he means by saying that.

"Yeah. Lucky I don't have a girlfriend or I will end heartbroken watching her fangirling Hyunjin." Bangchan said which was the fact that Hyunjin was popular among the girls. With his beauty, every guy would be heartbroken to see their girlfriend head overhill for him.
