In The city of Denver, Colorado an aspiring young author, around the age of 23, has a future that sees nothing but clouds of achievement, his name is Brian, he was writing his on his personal computer. He wore nothing but a black shirt with the mayday parade logo and dark jeans, his hair was straight and long but not shoulder length long, just enough so it covered one of his piercing deep green eyes, his skin was pale as a ghost yet he did not tan, suddenly he got an email of his close friend Tanner has gotten ill and can't really leave his own home to go to his shift as a barista at a coffee house.

Deciding to visit the sickly, barista, Tanner, Brian promptly starts walking. The house is fairly large, at least two stories tall, but it looks pretty ordinary; there's nothing about it to make it really stand out from the other buildings in the neighborhood. There is a knocker on the front door, solid brass, carved in the shape of a leering grotesque, he took hold of the handle and loudly bang it against the door to announce his presence.

No sooner Brian opened the door knowing no one would answer it. Remembering where Tanner's room is from the last time he visited, he proceed to make his way to it, finding the door to be closed, as usual. Brian slowly rapped his knuckles on the closed door, trying to announce his presence without being a nuisance at the same time.

"Come in!" Brian hears Tanner say, detecting a slight pep to his voice. He steps inside and smiles at Tanner as he closes the door behind him. Tanner smiles back at Brian and motions towards a nearby chair.

Brian pulls the chair and sits next to his bed. Tanner was only a year younger than Brian, yet he did not seemed to be, he wore gray clothes but his shirt was purple with the logo of Denver's football team, The Broncos, Brian assumed that, that was the only shirt he could reached for, since he had another one with the logo of his own team "eagle's football"

Brian just chuckled and moved some strands of Tanner's dirty blonde hair off his face so he could see those adorable freckles of his and his bright purple eyes. Tanner smiles at Brian and asks, "So... what do you want to do today?"

Fishing around amongst his pockets, Brian withdrew a case with some syrup and offers it to the sickly barista, explaining it will bolster his constitution and fill him with permanent vitality.

Tanner smiles gratefully at him. "Thanks for doing this for me, Brian."

Brian says "it's no trouble". He sees the look on the barista's face and hastens to assure him that he's certain the syrup work. "If you say so..." Tanner takes the case and uncorks it. "Here goes." He chugs the syrup down at once, making a face once he's done. "Ugh... If I didn't know better I'd say you're trying to murder my taste buds."

"Surely it's not that bad? The syrup smelled vaguely like cherries, it can't be as bad" Brian says slightly confused and curious

Tanner shakes his head. "Its medicine... medicine is never good. And it has cherries. I hate cherries," Tanner notes in disgust

Brian apologizes and says "but, hey, medicine just tends to taste nasty anyway. Still, it's doing you the world of good, now isn't it?"

"I guess I do feel better. Thank you Brian." Tanner smiles at him, already looking a bit better.

Brian smiles and strokes the boy gently on his head, telling him "you're welcome. Now, I think it's time you laid yourself back down and get some rest; give the medicine time to work. I promise I'll try and come back to see you later, but right now, you need to get some more rest." Tanner nods and settles himself on his bed. Brian smiles and sighs as he makes his way back to his own bed.

Fast forward a few days and Brian was already sitting next to Tanner's bed again, he looks Tanner over, remarking that he seems to be getting better after all.
