"I like these." Chaewon touches the thick frames of Yunjin's glasses, pushing them up ever so slightly. "I like how they sit on your nose. It fits well."

"What?" Yunjin blinks at her girlfriend with minor confusion in her eyes. She's not used to Chaewon being like this, because usually its her who sporadically says weird things.

But Chaewon just looks up at Yunjin from her spot on the couch, cuddled against her. Her arms are engulfed in a sweater, yet still find their place snug on Yunjin's waist, under her stretched out t-shirt. "You have a tall nose bridge, it fits your glasses well."

"Oh." A smile stretches across the blonde girl's face. She lets her finger graze the very tip of Chaewon's nose. "I like your nose as well. It's very cute." Yunjin leaves it at that, but Chaewon knows theres a million more things she could say, but she doesn't need to. It goes unspoken between them.

The moments they share where it's just the two of them like this, are the ones that stay ornately engraved in their brains, the delicate details scribed to last centuries. Chaewon's head leans against Yunjin's shoulder, so Yunjin pulls her closer. Her hands go from around Chaewon's shoulder to stroking her short hair, fingers threading through the silky black strands. She can hear her breathing through her nose—as well as the rise and fall of her chest, a low thumping of pulse matching together.

Almost suddenly, Chaewon pulls away, quickly standing up, which honestly frightens Yunjin for a hot second. Chaewon senses this and a smile returns for a bit. "I need to use the bathroom, and check something out real quick."

Although vague, Yunjin just shrugs in relief that Chaewon wasn't just suddenly disgusted with her or something. "Cool cool. I think I might have a smoke?" She poses it as a question, like she wants Chaewon's approval. Yunjin knows she doesn't have to, but it's one of those things that feels right to do.

"Sure. I'll meet you outside." Chaewon squeezes Yunjin's hands, fingers that were once interlocked now becoming loose threads. Yunjin heads over to the balcony of their apartment, which houses two chairs and a modest sized table which only holds a potted plant and an ashtray.

She brings a box of cigarettes and a lighter with her, opening the sliding glass door, slipping into the cool air of the night. The nighttime atmosphere of winter in Seoul is brutal and cold but Yunjin doesn't add any more layers atop her shirt even as goosebumps crawl up her winter-pale skin. The fire from the lighter warms her up enough, enough that she considers sufficient, but it really isn't.

The lighter sets the cigarette black and red on one end, the other end tucked between Yunjin's lips. She buys some obscure, expensive brand cigarettes that don't have a strong nicotine smell because Chaewon isn't a fan. It keeps her mind at solace in some ways, that the clouds she puffs out won't repel another source of her joy.

A sound of the door  sliding open wider is heard as Chaewon prods onto the balcony, wearing ear muffs and handing a thick coat to Yunjin. "Why do you like to act all tough by freezing yourself to death?"

"Because you make me warm." Yunjin says like a joke, but she means it.

Chaewon takes a seat in the other chair. "Well of course, that how body heat works." She holds a small box in her lap, it's pink and  donned with red and white ribbons, simple but very adorable. Yunjin's eyes immediately dart to it, but she quickly looks away as if she hadn't noticed anything.

It isn't very slick, because Chaewon notices and let's a laugh slip past her lips. Yunjin cracks too, their soft giggles filling the air between them, the chilly, smoky, air between them.

Chaewon sets the box on the small table between their chairs, and Yunjin takes that as a sign to tap out her cigarette on the ashtray.

And of course, she has to ask, "What's in here?"
