The Flightless Angel

His One and Only Dream

The sun shined brightly through the clear blue sky. Nothing but a gentle breeze came into the peaceful silence, along with the faint songs of small birds. In the distance, a young light angel sat underneath a lonely cheery blossom tree. He sighed and looked at the bright blue sky. He smiled at the thought of someday being able to fly on his own. In fact, his one and only wish was to do so. "Will I ever be able to fulfill my dream?.." He asked himself in a soft tone, as he gently patted the bark of the old brittle tree. The flowers swayed from side to side and the pink petals of cherry blossom gently floated down to touch the warm, cool earth. Suddenly, a large bird came into the angel's view. It soared gently and easily across the sky. It seemed to be roaming unknown areas of the earth. Immediately, the brunette angel pulled himself up to his feet and began to follow the bird. The creature seemed to slow down and fly at a certain pace, as if to let the angel explore with it. Pit couldn't help but crack up a bright smile. "I can't wait to fly on my own someday!" He chuckled, as he ran through the large open field along with his new feathered friend.
