Ohm POV.

Perth (🐯): Ohm... Ohm... Wake up, man...

Perth's voice startled Ohm awake, thoroughly scared.

🐯: Why are you scared? Did you have a bad dream? It can't be a girl you saw. Here, drink this water and sit down.

Perth said, handing Ohm a glass of water. Ohm drank the water in one gulp and took a deep breath, trying to calm down.

Ohm (🐶): It's not a bad dream, bro; it's a bad memory. Ohm said without looking at Perth, hiding the tears falling from his eyes.

After that, it was Perth who broke the long silence between us.

🐯: Get ready quickly. We still need to pick up Chimon on the way.

Having nothing else to say, Perth left the room, knowing that giving me some alone time was the best thing right now.

Yes, that was the worst day of my life. I must have fainted from the shock of seeing Dad getting killed. When I regained consciousness, I was lying on a hospital bed. There was nothing left for me to hold onto. By then, my mom and dad had left me forever, and I was alone in this world. Because of the property I owned, I had no shortage of relatives who wanted to take care of me. Eventually, to escape from them, I had to hide even on the day of my parents' funeral.

My dad always trusted Uncle Ruangwiwat (Rune) and Uncle Sukumpantanasan (Sun) more than these relatives. Essentially, until I turned 18, all the business matters were entrusted to Uncle Rune, as if he knew exactly what was going to happen.

Once this was known, all those relatives who wanted to take care of me disappeared. Uncle Rune and Aunt Jane (Mrs. Ruangwiwat), who had always treated me like their own son even when Dad was alive, were more than willing to take care of me. However, at that time, I was very angry with Uncle Rune.

I did not inform the police about everything as soon as I regained consciousness in the hospital, following my father's instructions. Instead, I told everything to Rune because he is a close friend of my father's. He is also my father's personal lawyer. I thought he would get the culprit arrested, but he handled the situation in a way that allowed the murderer to go free, presenting the incident as an accident.

I didn't understand why he did that, so I argued with him and got angry. There were even days when I secretly tried to go to the police. However, later on, I realized why he did it. He did it to protect me. That day too I survived thanks to that girl even I didn't remember her face.

I'm only eight years old, Killing me and eliminating the only evidence of that incident was a not  big task for the man who did all of that. In the end, it seemed like I would never be able to get justice for my mom and dad. That's why Uncle Rune protected me until I was strong enough to confront that man. But of course, at the age of eight, I couldn't understand that, so I stayed with Uncle Rune with a lot of resentment. Therefore, the only choice I had left was the other family that didn't abandon me at that time, the Sukumpantanasan family. Uncle Sun, who was also my dad's best friend and our family doctor, and his family gladly accepted me as one of their own, even rejecting the money that had been set aside for my upbringing.

Uncle Sun and Aunty Tara (Mrs. Sukumpantanasan) treated me like their own child,. When they looked after me, Perth and Gemini, their children, treated me like their own brother. To tell you how close they were to me, I now call Sun Uncle and Tara Aunt as Mom and Dad. Even though I was initially upset, the Ruangwiwat family treated me the same way. So, now I don't feel the absence of my real parents that much, but I can never forget what happened. So I still have a sense of anger at myself for not being able to do justice for my real parents.
