uzi's pov

It's been a week since the accident.

"Uzii!!!!!"

I now have this badass eyepatch. Epiiiiiic.

"UZI!" Lily snapped me out of my thoughts. "Jeez, don't just space out like that!"

"Sorry-!"

"Aaaaaanyway- as I was saying before-" Lily adjusted her chair. "So the club festival is this afternoon~! Are you gonna come with me? Pleeease?? Cozzy won't come with me..."

"Cosmos is like, the nicest person I've met. If he wouldn't go with you, then you're fucked for the rest of your days."

Cosmos is Lily's twin brother. He truly is the nicest human being I've ever met.

"PLEASE I'M BEGGING YOU COME WITH ME." Lily grabbed my wrists in desperation.

"You seem desperate."

"We-ell, Cozzy is joining the heavy metal club, for some reason..." She looked defeated. "He already made his decision. And since you've only seen like- two clubs, I was thinking, as you're my friend, we could run around and browse together~"

I let out a sarcastic groan. "Fiiiiiine. If you insist."

"Yay!!" Lily swung her legs. "Oh, by the way, didja hear? Physicals are in a week or so."

"Uuuuuuugh. Isn't there a vision portion? I'm practically missing an eye. How would they even write it?"

"Maybe they'll just write you down as 20/20 vision."

"I doubt it. Do you know how it works? I mean, the entire physical process."

"Nnnnope! Here, lemme ask." Before I could stop her, Lily tapped a kid on the shoulder who sat in front of us.

"Lily Suzumi!" I hissed. "That's a-"

"Hey there!" She completely ignored me. "Y'know how the physicals work, by any chance?"

The student stared at us. "I think it's like. Sorted by class? At least that's what the second-years I know told me. Like, all the dash-A classes go together, then the dash-B, et cetera et cetera."

"Oh. Cool. Thanks!"

"It's fine." They turned back around to scribble something in their notebook.

"Not the answer I was looking for, but still helped," She whispered. I watched her as she leaned back in her chair and stretched, her shoulders making a popping sound. Something slipped out of her pocket.

"Hey, dropped this." I picked it up and skimmed it. "Seizure medi- Lily, this is important! Why is it just in your pocket?!"

"Oh. I was gonna give that to the nurse, along with- hey, where's the extra magnet-? Oh god, did it fall out of my pocket too?! Give me a second while I go back and see if it's stuck on my shoe locker." She got up and hopped over the classroom's indoor windowsill.

"Lily what the hECK-?!" I stuck my head out the window to look for the distinct red pigtails to no avail.

I was now stuck with the kid Lily bothered a couple minutes ago and some popular girls surrounding a desk. And they tell me homeroom lasts for 45 minutes. I don't think I'll survive 20 seconds without my only friend keeping me entertained. Do teachers really expect me to make friends with these idiots??
