The day was perfect for sailing, with a gentle breeze and clear skies welcoming Ningning's friends aboard her family's luxurious yacht. It wasn't just any weekend getaway; it was a celebration of Ningning's birthday, a chance for everyone to unwind after a grueling semester at SMU Arts.
Yu Jimin and Kim Minjeong, however, seemed determined to cast a shadow over the festivities from the moment they stepped on board. Despite the stunning views and the celebratory mood, their relentless bickering threatened to sour the atmosphere.
"Why did I even agree to come on this trip?" Jimin muttered darkly, shooting an irritated glance at Minjeong as they stood on the deck.
Minjeong sighed, already feeling the weight of tension between them. "Because Ningning invited us, Jimin. Can't we just enjoy it?"
Their friends exchanged worried looks, sensing another storm brewing between the two strong-willed girls. Ryujin, always the peacemaker, attempted to diffuse the situation with her usual optimism. "Come on, guys, let's not fight. It's Ningning's birthday!"
Ignoring Ryujin's attempts to ease the tension, Jimin and Minjeong continued to argue, their voices rising above the gentle lapping of the waves and the distant laughter of their friends. Finally, Ningning, with her calm demeanor, stepped in to intervene.
"Alright, that's enough," Ningning said firmly, her tone leaving no room for argument. "This weekend is supposed to be about celebrating, not arguing. Can we agree to put aside our differences?"
Giselle, quick to offer a solution, exchanged a knowing glance with Ningning. "I think I know how we can settle this."
Before Jimin or Minjeong could protest, Ningning and Giselle each took one of their arms and led them towards one of the private rooms on the yacht. Ryujin and their other friends followed closely behind, murmuring apologies and assurances as they closed the door behind them.
Minjeong gasped as the door clicked shut, turning to protest, but Ningning's voice came through the door, gentle but firm. "You two need to work this out. We'll let you out when you're ready to join the celebration."
Inside the room, Jimin smirked, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed defiantly. "Looks like we're stuck here, Kim."
Minjeong, frustrated beyond measure, banged her fist against the door. "Hey! Let us out!"
There was no response from their friends outside, and Minjeong sighed heavily, turning to face Jimin, who seemed unusually calm despite the situation.
Silence settled in the room for a few moments before Jimin couldn't resist needling Minjeong again. "You know, Kim, if you weren't always trying to act like Little Miss Perfect—"
Minjeong's patience snapped, her voice rising. "Oh, like you're any better, Jimin! Always causing drama just because you can't stand not being the center of attention!"
Jimin stepped closer, her eyes narrowing dangerously. "At least I don't pretend to be something I'm not."
Their argument escalated, the confined space amplifying their frustrations until they were both breathless and seething with anger. It seemed there was no end in sight to their deadlock.
Frustrated beyond reason, Jimin suddenly crossed the room in a few swift steps. Before Minjeong could react, Jimin's lips crashed against hers in a forceful and unexpected move that left Minjeong stunned. For a moment, neither moved, the air thick with shock and confusion.
When they finally pulled apart, Minjeong stared at Jimin in disbelief, her mind racing. "What was that for?"
Jimin shrugged nonchalantly, though her eyes betrayed a hint of something softer beneath her usual facade. "You were talking too much."
