As night fell over the camp of the fellowship Legolas came to sit next to you, "Don't you think it's to dangerous out here for you, you are merely a mortal girl?" Legolas asked as his worried and curious state took over.

"What's it to you elf" I asked thinking he was judging me for being a girl. Legolas was taken back by the harshness of your tone, his shoulders tensing as he tried to keep his composure, though he quickly regained his cold stoic stance. His arms folded as he leaned against a rock. He looked you up and down in judgment. "Is it wrong to me concerned?" he asked.

I worked hard to become a ranger, my whole life criticised for being a girl, "I suppose not elf, just remember I'm still better." He scoffed amused by your statement, he couldn't help but met a cheeky smirk take over his features. "How could you possibly be better, you're only a frail human girl."

I take one of my many daggers and throw it at the tree mere inches away from the sleeping dwarf, I smirk. "See, elf precision is a virtue of mine." He watches you throw the dagger and he couldn't deny your precision, he had to give you that much. Still, he was stubborn. He smirked at you as he stood. "Perhaps in precision, you may have my match, but I have centuries of experience on you, girl. You cannot deny that."

Unable to deny the fact that the elf in fact has had more experience, I still have to prove my skills and worth to the elf. "Sure, old man", I say trying to get a fire started. "Old man?" His words were a mix of annoyance and disbelief, even a hint of offence and maybe interest. He walked over to you, standing over you as he spoke once more. "And pray, child how old might you be?"

I think long and hard do I lie or tell the elf the truth, "Twenty-one old man, how old might you be." I tease going with the latter of my choises. A scoff left him again, though he was surprised by your age. A mere 21, your life had only just begun. He tilted his head down, meeting your eye, looking at you as if studying your features, analyzing how your body looked.

"I am 2931 years, child. You are a mere infant in comparison to me." My eyes widen in shock I had heard tales of the elven ages but never expected them to be this big, "Well, elf you are due to your grave." He shook his head, amused by your remarks, but he took offense to the grave remark, his hands resting on his hips as he looked at you, his stance authoritative, tall and stoic like a powerful elven king. He leaned down, bringing his face near yours, almost in a taunting manner, a smirk on display.

"You think I'm too old, don't you? I'm almost as old as you are young, yet I am in the best shape of my life. I am in no way close to death, don't get ideas, child" Finally understanding I stand up and go lay in the higher grass farther from the rest of the fellowship, wanting some peace and quiet. His eyebrow rose at the movement, he couldn't deny that you intrigued him to no end. He watched as you distanced yourself from the rest of the group and the campfire, as he made the decision to join you in your isolation. He walked over, sitting down as he stared at you once more.

"It's rude to stare elf" I remark wanting to taunt him once more. "And you have not been rude to me as well, child?" He inquires, raising an eyebrow in skepticism. He had a point, you had insulted him numerous times throughout the day. His eyes were still fixed on you, studying your features in the night light. He was taking in your youthful appearance yet again, your skin and stature.

"You should come closer, to the fire. It won't do you any good to sit in the cold like this, child." He says clearing his point, "Fine, but only because it's cold, elf" I stated not wanting to give the elf the pleasure of controling me. A pleased smile spread on his lips as you agreed, he felt proud he was able to persuade you to come closer. He looked out at the rest sleeping soundly, as you moved closer to the fire Legolas sat alone a few feet away from the group. "Good at least you're not completely stubborn."

"Teach me more." I say wanting to know more about the elvish ways. He raised an eyebrow as you spoke, looking at you with a look of mild surprise. Your request caught him off guard, yet he had to admit the notion was appealing. A smirk tugged at the corner of his lip and he nodded. "Very well, child. I suppose I know a thing or two I could teach you."

I smile maybe the elf isn't completely insuferable.
