Mikey: 🍘

You were cooking in the kitchen, making Mikey's favorite since he had just won another race today. He was being extrmely nonchanlant about it, but you knew he had been practicing a lot for that. Mikey also didn't ask you to make anything special, but you figured why not?

Zayden, your son, had happily agreed to do the prank with you. Mainly because he was also a troublemaker anyway so the outburst wouldn't be too out of character. Although he's never actually yelled at either one of you before. 11 years and no issues with that so far!

Mikey was on the couch, eating a bag of potato chips because he was also guilty of snacking before dinner. He was watching something on TV with Zayden, who was innocently lounging on the opposite side of the couch.

You switched the burner that the pot was on and glanced over. Now was probably a perfect time to put the plan in action.

"Zay," you called his name from where you were. "Can you please–" However, he cut you off rather quickly.

"Shut up! I can't hear my show." He yelled from his seat.

You watched Mikey's head dart to the side where his son sat. The chip he was about to eat was suspended in the air.

"Zayden." You called again just to egg him on. "I didn't even finish speaking."

"I don't care!"

Now, Mikey sat up and fully turned his body. He reached forward onto the coffee table and grabbed the remote. Immediately he clicked off the TV. "Get up, and go see what they wanted you to do."

Zayden crossed his arms. "I was watching that, you know."

"I don't give a damn what you were doing." Mikey continued to eat his snack. "You have 5 seconds."

"Dad–"

"Do not make me turn back into my 15 year old self."

Zayden stiffened and then looked over at you to which you just gave him a thumbs up and started laughing. "Okay okay, no need to bring out your inner Toman. It was just a prank."

Mikey's head turned around to you. His eyes wide. "A prank? Y/N that was very much not funny!" He huffed.

"It was too!" Zayden laughed and jumped onto him. "You got like super mad."

"Super." Mikey sighs and ruffles the boy's hair. "No more of that, what if I would've blown up? I'm trying to leave that behavior in the past."

You went back to finishing up dinner. "Nah, you're doing good. Or, well, you're doing better."

"Better?"

"Yeah. I think this is an improvement from when you were 15."
