Amalia walked into the grill. Her heart was pounding in her chest as her brain raced with thoughts of anxiety.
This was it, she was going to find her father.
She looked at the blonde busboy and got his attention before saying, "Excuse me, do you know where Alaric Saltzman is?"
He just nodded to behind her where a middle aged man was sitting at the bar, looking at her with intrigue.
"Can I help you?" The man said.
Her heart skipped a beat. His face identical to the one in the photograph tucked away in her purse. She tried to speak up but the words got caught in the back of her throat. All she could do was let out a shaky breath.
The man raised an eyebrow at her, skeptical of the young girl who seemed to freeze in place.
She finally managed to utter a few words. "Hi.. my name is Amalia"
