Tia doesn't actually come from the lab. She was imported from a anonymous person in Japan, who created her on accident. That's the reason behind the age difference and clothing difference, as well as the piercings. Tia spent around 2 years in total freedom, which is where she got the piercings. She discovered what she identified as at age 6. Tia is friends with Faun, which makes Candy see her as a 'love rival'. Tia has no romantic interest in Faun however.
