Good Boy was his name, and he was the bestest dog ever!!!!  He was best friends with His Boy.  They slept curled up together, played ball and fetch together, swam in the little water circle together, and even ate together.  His Boy would drop pieces of chopped up hot dogs and french fries for him.

Every day His Boy would go away for a long time but always home for snacks and playtime.  One day, His Boy didn't come back.  Good Boy didn't know what happened, the Big Lady had left home with tears on her face and her phone at her ear.

His Boy never came home.

Good Boy still lived with the Big Lady and they still went for walks and played.  Good Boy heard a different name now, Chase - who this Chase was, he didn't know.  But His Lady said that name a lot.  She was now HIS, he had to protect her and lick those tears away daily.  Eventually, Chase forgot who Good Boy was and took His Lady out for walks and playtime.

One day, Chase heard "Good Boy, Good Boy", he remembered that name again!  But who was whispering it? Every morning, he woke up to these whispers, "Good Boy, get the ball... Gooood Boy!"  His Lady never heard these whispers.  Chase remembered His Boy and missed him.  Every time those whispers came, he would start to wag his tail and yip with excitement.  Running to the door, trying to find His Boy.

His Lady would just say, "it's OK Chase, I miss him too" but she doesn't know His Boy was whispering to him.  One day while on a walk, "Good Boy, come here!  Come on, come to me."  That was all Chase needed to hear.  He started to run with His Lady loosing her grip on his leash and running after him.

When Chase got to a building that was all boarded up, the whispers came again, "Good Boy, come help me.  Come on,"  Chase ducked under a board and ran into the building.  He could hear His Lady start to cry outside, "Chase, please come to me.  Come out Chase, please?"  But he didn't.

Chase sniffed all the burnt wood until he found a charred desk.  He was so happy, he could smell His Boy!  Now he searched for His Boy, he knew His Boy was somewhere near, he just knew it!  His Lady came into the building after him, still sobbing. Chase couldn't lick her tears away right now, he was on a mission.

As she watched, Chase sniffed all over until he found a smaller room.  He smelled death, and he didn't like it.  Finding dead rabbits on the road never felt good, Chase would always back away and go around that dead rabbit.  He couldn't go around this smell tho, it was everywhere in this smaller room.  He could smell a whiff of fresh air and looked up and saw the evening sky.  His Lady followed his gaze.  He could hear her whisper "this is where the roof gave in, right on top of them."  She sounded very sad.

Wait!  What was that smell?  His Boy!  It was His Boy!  He started to sniff around in the soot and debris, His Boy was here, he just knew it.  Chase started to dig and he found a small cap, His Boy!  His Lady bent down and patted Chase, hugging him close.  "You found him Chase, Good Boy"
