Doctor's pov. On that same day

I watch as the Kudo parents happily hold their new son in relief.

Watching this, I felt a bit guilty, knowing the reason they were so worried earlier, how it was my fault...

Flashback to that day 5 years ago~

I congratulated the couple as Suze, the nurse, wrapped the baby girl in a pink blanket and then we walked out to the checking room.

Except, after we were done checking, we didn't take the baby back to the couple.

We were assigned a mission the moment Kudo-san's pregnancy was confirmed, after all.

Instead, we went to my private office, Suze, the one who actually got a codename in the organization, grinned to herself as she held the now-sleeping baby, who fell asleep from exhaustion.

In there, was one person waiting for us, Vermouth, disguised as a normal hospital staff member.

She was here to take the baby.

Suze happily greeted, "Hello, Vermouth-sama." Vermouth smiles arrogantly and greets back, "Hi, Suze." she then looks at the pink blanket, "Is that the baby?"

Suze nodded as she walked over and handed her the baby, "Yes, here you go."

Knowing I couldn't do anything, I just watched.

That person wanted to turn the first Kudo child into an organization member, so I was assigned, as a doctor, to make sure the baby was delivered straight to them, with Suze's help as she took the role of a nurse.

Unlike Suze, I'm not assigned a codename yet, but apparently, this mission will help me get one.

Vermouth took the baby, holding her gently and carefully since she knew she couldn't get the baby injured.

She then smirked at us and said, "Good. You both did well." she then looked at me, "I'll talk to that person so you can get your codename assigned, Sensei."

I just gave her a nod in understanding and replied, "Thank you."

With that, she nods before taking the baby and taking the nurse-disguise off, now looking like a different person, still not looking like Sharon Vineyard.

I can't help but shiver, her ability to just do that so easily and quickly was terrifying.

She seems to notice and chuckles with that infuriatingly arrogant smile of hers, before she leaves the room, knowing that no other doctor is usually around by now with all the patients.

After watching her leave, I turn to Suze with a deadpan look, "I can't see why you give her so much respect, she's creepy."

Suze just rolls her eyes and says, "Well, you're a man so you wouldn't get it. Now, let's prepare that sad story of that baby being dead to those two."

I sigh in annoyance before just preparing myself, printing out a fake document that shows a baby with a weak body and then their time of death, making sure the time is accurate, before placing it down.

It's a lot easier to do it now before a birth certificate is even signed, as it means less effort to fake things, but it still took some time.

And after everything was ready, I put on a grim face as I walked into the room where the Kudo couple was waiting.

Flashback end~

After seeing Kudo-san's paranoia about leaving this baby alone, I did feel a bit bad, but when I looked at Suze, she seemed to think this was amusing, probably Vermouth's influence.

But anyway, that mission ended up succeeding and, because the organization is careful, this baby stays with the parents, otherwise, Kudo Yusaku would want to investigate and might find out.

So, I give the Kudo parents a smile as they decide the name of the boy, Shinichi, and after looking at Suze with a nod, we start making the birth certificate and every other necessary document.
