Zyra

♡₊˚ 🔥・₊✧

The whole group of teachers and students are standing outside, watching the school burn. It's been like 2 hours and the fire won't go out, but what I hate is standing out here when I could be on my bed re-reading all my books. I glance over to the crowd of people folding my hands and huffing in annoyance. "I could have been laying on my bed re-reading my books by now if it weren't for this stupid fire," I say. "Are your books the only thing you care about, Zyra?" Faye grumbled as Aura was clinging to her shaking. "Hey! My books are my babies." Kyra then spoke up: "Those love stories you read are so cheesy. Do you not read anything else more interesting?" "It's true," Lyra quipped. "Your romance books have no sex or anything like that; they're so boring." "But guys! Sex is a bad thing; we can't be talking about it." We all looked at Aura with annoyance. "This is why you're way too innocent." Faye said as she gave a death glare to some random kid who's judging us, "Whatever you say, Lyra, I don't read books full of shit." Lyra rolled her eyes at me. Kyra was tapping her feet impatiently, watching the flames slowly burn out. "Okay, I'm going home." Kyra said before walking away while Aura followed her, gripping her shirt, and soon everyone left, so I ran to catch up with them.

As soon as we got into the house, Mom came rushing towards us, hugging us all. "Are you okay? Is anyone hurt? Did anyone get burned?" "No, Mamma, we're okay," Kyra said. Mom gave us a worried look before nodding and going to the kitchen. Dad came home after a while and instantly went to Mom and did his whisper-yells about his business, if it even is a business.

Mom called us for dinner, and after days, Dad was sitting with us with a very stern look. Everything was awkward until Mom decided to say something. "Your dad and I have made a decision... that we're going to be moving." We all stared at Mom and Dad. "But our friends—our life—home?" Aura asked on the verge of tears, "We're only moving to, like, Rome or something, right?" Kyra asked, gripping her fork like she wanted to stab something. "We're moving to Paris." Dad spoke, and everything went silent before Faye got up and went to her room, not missing out on slamming the door.
