The sun had long since dipped into the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over the city of Zaun. The air was alive with the hum of machinery and the distant thrum of music, a perfect accompaniment to the mischief that Jinx and Eris had planned for the night. It was Eris's birthday week, and Jinx was determined to make it one for the books. As they stood atop a crumbling building, overlooking the labyrinthine streets of Zaun's undercity, Jinx flashed Eris a mischievous grin. "You know, I was thinking... we haven't had a good old-fashioned rumble in ages. What do you say we go kick some Firelight butt and celebrate your special week in style?"

Eris's siren-like eyes sparkled with excitement, her curly hair bouncing as she tilted her head back. "Well, you dragged me this far, so no point in turning back."

Jinx chuckled, her eyes crinkling at the corners. "That's the spirit, birthday girl! Now, let's get to it. Silco's got a shipment of Shimmer coming in tonight, and those Firelight wackos are hell-bent on torching it. We need to make sure they don't get their sticky hands on it."

Eris's dark matter magic stirred, a faint hum of power emanating from her. Her almond skin seemed to glow in the fading light while Jinx ready her blue and pink machine gun. As they prepared to take on the Firelights, Echo hovered beside Eris, its light dimmed to keep the girls from being noticed.

Together, they leaped off the rooftop, plummeting toward the streets below. Jinx's gauntlets glowed with a soft blue light, propelling her downward with a burst of speed. Eris, meanwhile, wrapped her dark matter magic around herself, slowing her descent with an eerie, weightless grace. They landed with a thud, Jinx rolling to absorb the impact while Eris simply stood, her magic dissipating as she took in their surroundings. The streets were narrow and winding, lined with crumbling buildings that seemed to lean in, as if listening to their conversation.

"Alright, birthday girl," Jinx whispered, her voice husky with excitement. "Time to track down those Firelights. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve to help us sniff them out."

Eris's eyes gleamed with anticipation. "I guess everyone at The Last Drop was right. You've been improving on your gadgets this year."

With a wink, Jinx activated a small device on her wristband, releasing a burst of high-pitched whistles and chirps. The sounds echoed through the streets, bouncing off the buildings as they homed in on the Firelights' hidden location.

The first masked figure emerged from the shadows, a flaming torch held aloft like a beacon. Jinx and Eris exchanged a look, and then they charged. Jinx led the charge, her gauntlets firing off bursts of compressed air that sent the Firelights flying. Eris followed, her dark matter magic swirling around her like a living cloak. She reached out with a hand, and a nearby Firelight's head was suddenly encased in a sphere of black, suffocating matter.
