Christopher Bang/ Bang Chan

Christopher gritted his teeth, his annoyance evident. Her nonchalant attitude was driving him crazy, the way she was looking up at him through her eyelashes. It made him want to both grab her by the throat and kiss her senseless.

"Loosen up?" he repeated "Is that what you think I should do?"

He took another step closer, their bodies almost touching. His eyes bored into hers, challenging.

"What I think," he continued, his voice almost a growl, "is that you need to learn some respect, Ray."

He was so close now that he could feel her breath on his face. His presence was threatening, his anger and irritation barely suppressed. Yet behind all that, there was a hint of something else, something deeper, something dangerous lurking behind his gaze.

He waited for her response, expecting a sharp reply or a smartass remark. But she didn't give him the satisfaction. She stood her ground, her expression remaining calm and composed. She was like a rock in the middle of a tempest, unmoving and unshakeable.

God, she was infuriating. No matter how hard he tried to make her flinch, roll her eyes, react in any way, she always remained maddeningly unruffled. It was as if she was immune to his anger. The thought only fueled his frustration further.

Christopher was used to people obeying him, fearing him, respecting him. But this woman, this annoying, defiant woman, was always driving him to the brink. He clenched his fists, his eyes boring into hers, searching for any sign of weakness, any sign of discomfort.

But all he could see was her steady gaze and her nonchalant expression. He fought the urge to shake her, to break her. But he knew that would only give her the satisfaction of knowing how deep she was under his skin.

Instead, he took a step back, putting some distance between them. He needed to regain his composure, to calm the fire that burned inside him.

He could feel the heat radiating from her body, the rise and fall of her chest with each breath she took. His mind was filled with thoughts of all the things he wanted to do to her, things he knew he shouldn't be thinking about, not anymore. But her insolence only fueled his own body's treacherous response.

His eyes flicked down to her for a moment, his gaze sweeping over her body before returning to her face. He seemed even more irritated as he took in the black combat suit that hugged all her curves so perfectly, leaving little to the imagination.

Christopher pushed any dangerous thoughts away quickly. He couldn't let himself get distracted. Not by this woman, not by those expressive eyes, not by those plump lips.

He took a final look at her before walking away.

"Meeting in half an hour."

He then made his way to his office, his mind still swirling with a mix of irritation, anger, and an annoying hint of lust.

Once inside his office, he shut the door behind him with a sharp bang. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heartbeat and the conflicting feelings bubbling inside him.

He walked over to his desk and sat down heavily, running a hand through his hair in frustration. He looked around the room, his gaze falling on the wall clock. He still had half an hour before the meeting.

Christopher leaned back in his chair, staring up at the ceiling. He tried to focus his mind on the upcoming meeting, the strategic matters that needed discussing, but it was hard to concentrate with her face burned into his memory.

Christopher tried again to focus on the reports and documents on his desk, but his eyes kept involuntarily wandering towards the clock on the wall, counting down the minutes until the meeting.

......................................

Thirty minutes later, Christopher sat at the head of the table in the meeting room, the other seven head members of the gang seated around the table. Some of them quietly discussing the agenda, the others chatting about small nothings.

He glanced at the door as it opened, and Ray walked in, taking her seat next to him. Her expression was neutral, her gaze fixed forward. She greeted the members briefly and gave him a half nod.

Christopher forced himself to keep his eyes on the meeting at hand, listening to the head members report on their individual assignments.

But his attention kept getting drawn towards her, his gaze flickering in her direction. He couldn't help but notice the way she sat quietly, her eyes fixed on the person speaking. He knew she was observant, taking in every detail, every word. It was one of her many skills that he begrudgingly admired.

Snapping out of his trance, Christopher reported his attention on the ongoing report until he noticed Seungmin, their tech specialist, seeming slightly nervous as opposed to his usual confident state.

He raised an eyebrow, silently signaling for him to speak.

Seungmin cleared his throat, his fingers tapping on the table in front of him.

"I recently intercepted a communication from The Syndicate..."

His words hung in the air, the room falling silent in anticipation. The mention of The Syndicate, their biggest rival organization, immediately grabbed everyone's attention. Christopher leaned forward, his gaze fixed on Seungmin.

"Continue." He said, his voice steady but intense.

Seungmin resumed speaking, a hint of carefulness apparent in his tone.

"They are in possession of sensitive intel...concerning us."

Christopher's annoyance turned into intrigue at Seungmin's revelation. The Syndicate had information.. about them. He felt a flicker of concern but quickly suppressed it. His expression remained serious, his eyes never leaving Seungmin's face.

"What kind of intel?" Christopher asked, his voice calm yet commanding.

The room's atmosphere had grown tense now. Everyone was waiting for Seungmin's answer, their eyes fixed on him. He paused for a moment, gathering his thoughts before continuing.

"They have access to some of our financial records, details about our operations...even some personal information on certain members."

He shuffled some papers in front of him before continuing.

"I've noted down some key points that I could make out from the conversation."

Christopher leaned back in his chair, his expression growing grimmer by the second. The fact that The Syndicate, which has gone off radar for a while, had now such sensitive information about them was troubling. He rubbed his temple with his fingers, his mind already filled with all sorts of scenarios.

The technology specialist picked up a pen and started reading off a list.

"They have knowledge about our safe houses, weapons deals.. they also know that we have plans to expand our drug trade next month."

Christopher's expression darkened. This was bad. Very bad. The Syndicate knew way too much about their operations, their plans. It was obvious they were using this information to gain an upper hand.

He clenched his jaw, trying to keep his anger in check. He knew they had to do something about this, and fast.

"Anything else?" He asked Seungmin, his voice low and tight.

Seungmin shuffled through his papers once more, his brow furrowing in concentration.

"There was one more thing.." he said, his eyes skimming over the document. "The Syndicate is preparing a counterattack...they're planning to target one of our most important assets."
