She did it! Oh happy days and joy and delight and, of course, the mortifying and crushing ordeal of being known and honest about the inner workings of her heart that did not quite dampen the more pleasant parts of it all. Marcille had bundled up all of her courage - which was saying something as she was very courageous even if she might not admit it, but it did take a very specific sort of courage to not only get through a dungeon but also accept her fate and also eat her way through the dungeon - and told Falin in no uncertain terms that she was in love with her, and much to her delight the not-quite-as-much-a-chimera reciprocated! It went even better than she had expected, though her expectations did linger around the expectation of her immediately bursting into tears and not actually managing to get a single word out, so anything better than that was better than she expected.

Even after Falin was called away to do some inevitably tedious duty that she would surely do with grace and diligence, and with none of the complaining that she had every right to bemoan, Marcille was still practically shaking with her giddy delight, so she knew she had to make it somebody else's problem or she thought she might explode. Perhaps it was a little reckless and silly for someone to be bursting into the king's private cabinet when he might have been busy, but there was precisely nobody in that arrangement that were even remotely conventional, and worse came to worse, she was the court magician so she should be allowed to barge in on things every now and again if it was important. The king's sister dating the aforementioned court magician, so she decided it was important enough to interrupt boring things anyhow.

Or maybe she was just excited and wanted to share her excitement with her friend while forgetting that technically that meant Laios would end up being her future brother-in-law, an inevitability that may or may not definitely absolutely haunt her the moment she realised it.

There was much elegance and sophistication in the way Marcille entered the cabinet, of course. This elegance and sophistication coming in the shape of her all but throwing herself into the door, flinging it open with a little too much force, a grin stretched across her presently rosy features. But that's fine, she was visiting her friend on visiting her friend business and not royal court business so she was sure that it was fine.

"I just just told Falin that I love her and she loves me too and we're dating now and it's awesome and we're happy and adorable and it's great and-" exclaimed the half-elf in a way that was far from the most coherent even if it did technically tick every box apart from the one about breathing as she spoke. She'd have certainly kept up her ramble if she didn't realise that she was rambling to an audience and not just her friend.

"I'm so happy for you!" came the reply from Kabru as he leaned nonchalantly against the table. His smile looked perfectly sincere and not like he was screaming silently to himself over the fact they had only just figured it out.

"Yes, so am I," came the reply from Toshiro, "However I must say I thought you both were already together." A beat. "I was under the impression that Falin rejected my proposal because you had asked first, which made it slightly less painful to think she had found someone else that made her happy."

"Wait what?" Marcille blinked, giving Laios an almost pleading look.

"Yeah, I think you were the last to know. Sorry Marcille," came his reply, which did not sound very sorry at all as far as she was concerned, "Falin was calling you her girlfriend for a while now."

"HUH?!"

"And Chilchuck said it was your willingness to do anything for the one you loved that gave him the nudge to talk things through with his wife." added he, not helping the existential crisis his friend was presently going through.

"And this is the time you all thought to tell me?" bemoaned she, slumping ever so slightly as the creeping embarrassment of her being in a relationship had been apparently obvious to everyone but herself.
