Freedom of speech is a cornerstone of democracy for several reasons.Freedom of speech enables citizens to access a range of information and perspectives, allowing them to make well-informed choices, especially during elections. An informed electorate is crucial for the effective functioning of a democratic system. It enables the media and individuals to expose government malfeasance and corruption, holding officials accountable for their actions. This transparency helps prevent abuses of power and promotes good governance. Freedom of speech allows people to express their opinions, advocate for changes, and participate in public discourse, ensuring that diverse voices are heard in the decision-making process..The ability to speak out against injustices and advocate for one’s rights is fundamental to democracy. Freedom of speech empowers individuals and groups to challenge discriminatory practices and demand equal treatment.

Without freedom of speech in Pakistani politics, genuine democracy cannot thrive. This was evident about my hero…when Imran Khan boldly responded "absolutely not" to a request for military bases. His refusal showcased his dedication to Pakistan’s sovereignty and independence, in stark contrast to the more compliant attitudes often associated with leaders like Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif. Imran Khan’s position emphasized the necessity of having leaders who prioritize national interests over foreign demands, and highlighted the crucial need for a political landscape where free expression and dissent are safeguarded and promoted…he is in jail today because he answer behind of their expectations. They might thought he would say ‘ absolutely yes’ But he didn’t. That’s why they prefer Nawaz or shahbaz Sharif… Imran Khan is admired for his leadership and vision for Pakistan. He has consistently advocated for a corruption-free government and a more just and equitable society.Imran Khan founded the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre in Lahore, named after his mother. The hospital provides free cancer treatment to the needy and is a significant contribution to Pakistan’s healthcare system..the people who talk about positivety of Imran khan or against shahbaz Sharif are often killed or they were threatened by them…by military of Pakistan or another man.

Freedom of speech in Pakistan faces several challenges due to various political, social, and legal factors. Here are some key reasons:

Political Pressure and Censorship
Government Control :

The Pakistani government has been known to exert control over the media and suppress dissent. Journalists and media outlets that criticize the government or military often face censorship, harassment, or even violence.

Military Influence:

The military wields significant influence in Pakistan and has historically intervened in civilian affairs. Criticism of the military is particularly sensitive and can lead to severe repercussions.

Cybercrime Laws:

The Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) has provisions that can be used to restrict online expression. The law has been criticized for being vague and for giving authorities broad powers to block content and penalize individuals for online speech.

Journalist Safety:

Journalists in Pakistan often face threats, kidnappings, and violence. Several journalists have been killed for their reporting, leading to self-censorship out of fear for personal safety…therefore they can’t say what they wanna say. When someone defend and tell about Imran khan that harass him/ her, if they don’t scare and do they torture him/her or murder.

Activist Suppression:

Human rights activists and political dissidents also face intimidation, harassment, and imprisonment, stifling their ability to speak freely.
