A/n TW Extreme angst up ahead, not for the faint of heart

In hindsight Cole knew it was probably a bad idea to go for a walk right after the weather forecast said it would rain.

He didn't care

For the time being, it was just overcast, and Cole had a plan to make it to Laughys' long before the storm hit.

Man, that was humiliating

Not being able to touch water, he means.

You know, the same thing that brings people life

Yeah that was just about the only thing that could kill him

Well that and his aching heart.

His team didn't know where he was, not that he thought they would care much anyway, they barely noticed that he was even there most of the time.

—---------------------------------------------

The sky growled

Winds howled

Cole didn't even flinch

—----------------------------------------------

Today was awful. It was the day Cole actually realized that he was dead

Dead

Such a small word, such big pain

If ghosts could cry, Cole would've cried a river big enough to kill 50 of him.

Well kill again of course

Since he was, you know dead

—---------------------------------------------

The air grew colder

The clouds groaned

Laughys' was just up ahead

Cole was almost there

—---------------------------------------------

It started out like most days did, Cole pretended to wake up, he greeted the other ninja

Who didn't even notice

He went on missions, and messed them up somehow

Today the criminal walked right through him

Kai's fist didn't.

It always ended up like that.

—-----------------------------------------------

Cole stood outside Laughys'

Staring at the door

He went in

The rain started to pour

He made it

—------------------------------------------------

In times like these, Cole wished he still had a mother

He'd never be able to see her again

He was stuck in the in-between

Oh he hoped she was doing ok.
Did she look like him? Or was that only a haunted temple kind of thing

Cole didn't know

He never would

A memory flashed across his mind

One he had forgotten

He forgets a lot these days

And yet somehow, it was back

"Mamma, Mamma!" The boy yelled, jumping into his mother's arms.
His mother coughed

She knew what was coming

"Hello sweetie" Her voice cracked
He knew she was trying to be strong for him

He couldn't let her leave

"Mamma hold on, it'll be ok" he said

His mother smiled

"Yes" She said, "yes it will be"

Her final breath was wasted on the boy's cheek

"MAMMA!"

If ghosts could cry, that would've done it

Cole hated remembering about his mother, it always made him cry

Or it used too

Cole missed her, more than anything.

—----------------------------------------------

The storm was loud

Harsh winds blew on the windows

The bikers left to get home safe

Cole didn't

He stayed there

Alone

He walked up to the barista

The man gave him a drink

It was a regular visit

—---------------------------------------------

Cole's thoughts drifted to his friends

He hoped they remembered him

They didn't

Deep down Cole knew they would never

He was dead

And they all knew it

He was a screw up

They knew that too

He was a loner

Wu knew that when he met him

He was a ghost

A ghost who was forgotten

A memory

That faded

He was nothing

He didn't exist

A nobody
