Dr. Kim Seokjin stepped wearily out of the operation theatre, the sterile scent of antiseptic clinging to his scrubs. His movements were precise, each step calculated to conserve energy as he made his way towards his cabin. The weight of exhaustion bore down on him heavily, but he showed no outward sign of weakness, his expression as impassive as ever.
Pushing open the door marked with his name, Dr. Seokjin expected nothing more than the solitude he craved. However, as the door swung open, he was met with an unexpected sight-a woman, perched arrogantly in his chair as if she owned the place.
Dr. Seokjin's cold gaze bore into her, his annoyance evident even as he maintained his composure. "What are you doing here?" he demanded, his voice as cold as ice.
The woman turned to face him, her lips curved into a smirk that grated against his nerves. "Just thought I'd pay you a visit, Dr. Seokjin," she replied, her tone dripping with insincerity.
Dr. Seokjin's jaw clenched at her flippant response, his patience wearing thin. He took a step forward, his imposing figure casting a shadow over her. "This is my cabin. You have no business being here," he stated, his voice devoid of emotion.
The woman's laughter rang out like a mocking echo, filling the room with its unwelcome presence. "Oh, lighten up, doctor," she said, her tone teasing. "I'm just here to have a little fun."
Dr. Seokjin's grip tightened on the doorframe, his irritation reaching its boiling point. Without another word, he reached out and firmly grasped the woman's arm, pulling her out of his chair with a forceful motion.
"Get out," he commanded, his voice leaving no room for argument.
The woman stumbled backward, her expression a mixture of surprise and indignation. "You can't talk to me like that," she protested, her bravado faltering in the face of his icy demeanor.
Dr. Seokjin said nothing, his cold gaze fixed on her as he waited for her to leave. With a final glare, the woman turned on her heel and stormed out of the cabin, leaving behind nothing but the echo of her footsteps.
Alone once more, Dr. Seokjin sank into his chair, his expression unreadable as he pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. He had no time for frivolous distractions, especially ones as irritating as her.
Just as he was beginning to regain his composure, a soft knock sounded at the door, interrupting his thoughts. With a resigned sigh, he called out, "Come in."
The door opened to reveal a young woman standing in the doorway, her demeanor timid yet determined. Dr. Seokjin regarded her coolly, his gaze piercing as he waited for her to speak.
"Hello, Dr. Seokjin," she said, her voice soft but steady. "I'm Park Yunseo. I'm new here, and it seems my cabin is right beside yours."
Dr. Seokjin studied her for a moment, his expression unreadable. "Fine," he said curtly. "Just stay out of my way."
Yunseo blinked in confusion and awkwardness. She seemed to shrink under Dr. Seokjin's gaze, her confidence waning in the face of his formidable presence.
Dr. Seokjin watched her for a moment longer before turning back to his desk, dismissing her with a wave of his hand. "You may go now," he said dismissively, his attention already drifting back to the papers scattered across his desk.
Yunseo hesitated for a moment, as if debating whether to say something more, but ultimately she turned and left the room without another word.
Alone once more, Dr. Seokjin allowed himself a moment of respite, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath to steady himself. The encounter with the mysterious woman had left him on edge, his thoughts swirling with unanswered questions.
Who was she, and why had she chosen to intrude upon his solitude? The answers eluded him, frustratingly out of reach like a puzzle with missing pieces.
With a shake of his head, Dr. Seokjin pushed the thoughts aside, turning his attention back to the task at hand. There were patients to attend to, reports to be filed-the endless responsibilities of a doctor that never seemed to end.
But even as he buried himself in his work, the memory of the woman lingered in the back of his mind, a lingering reminder of the chaos that had disrupted his carefully ordered world.
