Amanda

When we got home, my wife carried me like a bride habang nakakapit ako sa leeg niya papasok ng apartment namin.

"I missed you so much Daddy," and I nestled on the crook of her neck.

Gusto ko yong hawak lang niya ako ng ganito at laging ibebaby.

Dahan-dahan niya akong inihiga sa kama namin at masuyo akong hinalikan sa noo.

"I missed you too, my love. Ano bang nangyari sa'yo? I called you multiple times then makikita ko na lang kayong dalawa ng ex mo sa office mo. Tangina. Kung alam mo lang kung gaano ako sobrang nagselos sa unggoy na yon! And worst, you answered none of my calls and you blocked me pa. Halos mabaliw-baliw ako kaiisip kung nasaan at napano ka na. Next time, don't do that again, okay? I don't want to lose you, Amanda. I love you so much. I'm sorry if natulugan kita. Sobrang pagod lang ako sa work."

I pulled her closer and hugged her tight. Hearing those words from made me the most lucky and blessed woman in the world. It made my heart flutter and I couldn't ask for more.

Sobrang swerte ko sa asawa ko and I don't have regrets na siya ang pinakasalan ko kahit na kaming dalawa lang ang nakakaalam na kasal kami. We kept it private and it was our choice. We had our private wedding in the US and that happened after she passed the bar exam and after a year of working.

We met when she was 24 and I was 26 back then. I went to Ateneo for scholarships because our company was offering to those who were financially struggling and she was there. Also, during that time, I just got my MBA from Harvard University and kauuwi ko lang from States.

Nang makita ko siya, I knew she was the one that I was looking for. My ideal type.

Matangkad.

Maganda.

Malakas ang sex appeal.

Di man siya kaputian ay wala akong pake!

I've been to different countries but no one caught my attention except her.

Nasa Ateneo School of Law lang pala siya.

Ang babaeng mamahalin ko hanggang dulo.

Sobrang haba ng pila para sa scholarships at isa siya doon. So what I did is tinawag ko siya agad. Instead na mga mga kasama kong representatives ang mag-interview sa kanya ay nagpresinta na akong ako na. Tinanong ko agad ang name, age, address at contact number niya and lastly, her educational background.

Literal na napanganga ako nang makita ko ang educational background niya. I was really impressed kaya lalo ko siyang nagustuhan. Her whole schooling career, consistent honor and dean's lister siya.

In fact, she came from a middle class family but for me, for us, mahirap yan. Despite our social disparity, I didn't give a goddamn care.

She graduated summa cum laude with a degree in accountancy.

She also topped her board exam.

Sobrang saya niya nang siya lang kunin naming recipient ng scholarship namin.

In short, tinapos ko na ang pila niya.

She deserves it.

Dahil gustong-gusto ko siya, ako na ang nagfirst move kaya lagi akong bumibisita sa Ateneo para lang makita siya. Naiinis at nagseselos ako kapag may umaaligid sa kanyang mga babae. Knowing there, marami ring babae ang nanggaling from a well-off family pero mas mayaman ako sa kanila at mas maganda.
