The orphanage was a cold, unforgiving place, where Yn had learned from a young age that she had no one in this world except herself. The other children and even the caretakers treated her with disdain, as if her existence was a burden they had to bear. She often wondered why she had been dealt such a harsh hand in life.
Yn sat alone on a cold stone bench, her arms wrapped around her knees. The laughter of other children echoed around her, but she remained isolated, lost in her own thoughts.
Yn: (thinking) What's the point of living if no one cares? Maybe it's better if I just disappear. She recalled the countless times she had been pushed, shoved, and ignored. Every harsh word and cruel action left a mark on her heart. The days blended into a gray blur of loneliness and pain.
One particularly harsh winter evening, she found herself at the edge of the orphanage's roof, looking down at the icy ground below. The world seemed so cold, so indifferent to her suffering.
Yn: (whispering) Maybe if I jump, they'll notice me... even if it's just for a moment. As she stood there, battling with her darkest thoughts, a faint sound from a nearby window caught her attention. It was the voice of a world-famous person, the idol and singer named Jimin, coming from a radio in the caretaker's room.
Jimin (on the radio): "I hope that you never give up. Remember that there is a person in Korea, in the city of Seoul, that understands you."Yn's eyes widened as she listened to the voice. She felt a chill run down her spine, and for the first time in a long while, she felt a spark of hope.
Yn: (whispering) Jimin...She clung to those words, replaying them in her mind over and over. The thought of someone, even someone she had never met, understanding her pain gave her a reason to step back from the edge.
Yn: (thinking) Maybe... maybe I can keep going. For him.__________________________________
*Five Years Later*The years passed, and Yn transformed from a fragile teenager into a resilient young woman. Now 21, she had left the orphanage behind and built a life for herself. She worked tirelessly at a small café, her hands busy with serving customers and cleaning tables, but her mind often drifted to thoughts of Jimin.
Standing in front of a mirror in her small apartment, Yn adjusted her café uniform. Her reflection showed a determined young woman who had fought through adversity and come out stronger.
Yn: (thinking) I'm 21 now, an independent woman. My life isn't perfect, but I have a reason to live. Jimin's words still guide me.Each day was a struggle, but it was a struggle she embraced. She saved every spare penny, hoping to one day see Jimin in person. His music and messages had become the light in her darkest times, the reason she pushed forward despite the hardships.
One evening, as Yn walked home from work, she decided to take a different route. The streets were quieter, and the sky was turning dark. She often took these walks to clear her mind and dream about the future.
Yn: (thinking) I can't believe I saved up enough for his concert. Just a few more days...
Her heart raced at the thought of finally seeing him, the man whose words had saved her life. Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice the car speeding around the corner. The sound of screeching tires filled the air.
Yn: (gasping) No!
The last thing Yn remembered was a blinding light and the sound of impact. Everything went black.Yn's journey in the physical world had ended abruptly. The impact of Jimin's words had transcended life and death, leaving a legacy of love and hope.
