I was 8 years old when me and my parents were going on a wonderful vacation after my Dad had a big promotion at his company.
*Harper's watching TV*
*Mom's in the kitchen*
*Doors open*
"Hey guys!, Dad's back!"
*Harper intentionally ran to her father to greet him*
"Honey go get your Mom, I have something to tell you all."
"Sure Dad I'll get Mom."
"Mom! Dad wants you here!"
"Oh okay honey I'll be there just a sec!, I'm cooking right now!"
*Harper and her Father sat on the
couch while waiting for her*
*Minutes later...*
"What is it darling?"
"Yeah Dad what is it?"
"Dad got a big promotion today!"
"Ohh!! darling congratulations!! I'm proud of you!" *grinned*
"Dad what's a promotion?"
"It means Dad will have more money
honey!"
"Woah!! Dad it means we are rich!!"
"Yes Honey we're rich!!"
"I've been thinking about this lately, should we go on vacation tomorrow?"
"Darling it would be a great idea since you got a promotion today."
*mischievous smile*
"Yeah! Dad we should go on vacation!"
"Okay okay we'll go on vacation tomorrow tomorrow."
"Honey better start packing for tomorrow, don't pack too much."
"Sure Dad I won't pack too much."
I should've known that this moment of my life would end up in a disaster...
I noticed something's off towards my mother's behavior, when dad told us about his promotion. I noticed that mom had a grin on her face when my dad had done talking about his promotion.
*Morning comes*
"Honey! are you done packing!"
"Yes Dad! I'm done packing!"
"Okay! come downstairs and eat breakfast, so we can go now."
"Sure Dad! I'll be there in a moment."
*After they ate breakfast*
"Okay Honey are we all set for a 3 day vacation!"
"Oh yes! Dad! I'm so excited to see the ocean."
"How about you Darling are you excited?"
"Uh-huh?, oh- yes! of course Darling I'm also excited to see the ocean."
"Okay!, time to get moving."
*Meanwhile at the car*
*Harper's asleep*
"Umm.. hey Darling."
