I woke from my deep slumber to the sound of someone banging on my door. I opened my sleepy eyes and checked the time on my wall clock. I felt tired after resting for almost 3 hours.
"Yaar Shub uth, I have been banging on your door for the last 20 minutes," Abhay shouted behind closed doors.
"I am awake. I will see you downstairs in 15 minutes," I shouted back.
"Hurry up, we are already late." He said and left.
I got ready and changed into a white T-shirt, a blue jacket, and blue ripped jeans. I styled my hair with hair wax and sprayed on my favorite cologne. Despite all that, my eyes still looked tired. When I went downstairs, I saw Abhay waiting for me. He wore a white T-shirt, a blue jacket, and white trousers.
I displayed my car keys to him, gesturing that he could take them and drive. As he took the keys from my hand, he frowned and touched my forehead with the back of his hand. I raised my eyebrow to know what he was doing.
"You have a fever, Shub. Your eyes are looking drowsy too." He informed me and touched my cheek.
"I am fine. it's just tiredness." I replied.
"It's not just tiredness, you have a fever," Abhay said stubbornly.
"I am fine, I promise." I tried to assure him, but he didn't look convinced.
"Fine, but you are going to take medicine after we return from V bhai's house. He ordered.
"I hate medicines." I scrunched my nose.
"I don't care, or else I will tell V bhaiya about your fever," he blackmailed.
I raised my hands and nodded my head like a kid. We reached V Bhaiya's house one hour late, and the first person I saw was Kia, who had been continuously looking at the entrance as if waiting for someone to appear from that door. She saw me, and her face lit up, showing her brightest smile with dimples appearing on her left cheek. I smiled, but she frowned while looking at my face. I shrugged my shoulders and tried to convince her by showing my best smile, but she shook her head in denial. I genuinely smiled at her antics. She looked cute in her pink floral dress, with her silky hair open and flowing freely.
"Shub, Abhay! You both are..." V bhaiya stopped saying and frowned, looking at me.
"What's wrong, kiddo? He came toward me and touched my forehead.
"You are not well." V bhaiya concluded.
"I am fine, Bhaiya. It's just due to tiredness." I answered.
"You are not fine, your eyes are red, you are looking weak." V bhaiya said in a serious tone.
"Bhaiya, I said the same thing but yeh meri sunta kahan hai." Abhay commented, and I glared at him.
