Denzel smiled a little as Ulysses began to list off all the things that they needed for the baby. "I'm not sure it's a boy. It was more of a compliment. You're really pretty and they say people pregnant with girls get all puffy and droopy." Denzel explained, already in the bathroom and stripping his underwear off.
He slipped into the shower and began to scrub his wings. He was quiet while doing this, the only thing that could be heard was the clink of his metal foot hitting the tub when he moved.
While he showered, he thought about what else they needed and boy did they need a lot.
"Hell... There's just so much to be done!" Denzel said as he showered, having kept the door open so Ulysses heard him. "And have yet to pick some names. This is so exhilarating!" He was pretty excited."Well it was a sweet compliment." Ulysses says with a grin. "I would be happy either way but I think I would like a Denzel junior." He admits with a soft smile. He did his best not to think about the fact that Denzel was currently naked in the shower because then otherwise he would be way too turned on. "It really is." He agrees. "There's so much to do but I really can't wait." He admits. "Mhm." Denzel hummed in the shower and finished washing up quickly and drying before exiting the bathroom fully naked. His justification was that Ulysses had seen him naked before.
He rummaged through his dresser and wore a black shirt with jeans. Once he was dressed, he brushed his white hair and turned back to Ulysses, raising his brows in confusion. "Do you need help getting up or..?"Ulysses choked when Denzel came back into the bedroom fully naked, "That is completely not fair!" He complains. "How dare you tease me like that." He gripes. It was enough to make him want to throw all of the boundaries out the window. Though he did certainly enjoy staring at him as he dressed at least. "No no. I can get up." He says, "I was just enjoying relaxing." He'd been ridiculously comfortable and the bed smelled just like Denzel which was even more comforting. He pushes himself to his feet. "I'm borrowing some of your clothes. I didn't bring any with me when I came here." He informs him before moving to dig through his closet. Thankfully they were very close in height so he was able to make do with some sweatpants and a loose t-shirt. "Tease? You're the one that came all snuggly to me in the middle of the night." Denzel smirked. He allowed for him to dig through his clothes while he himself looked around for his wallet. "You look good." He simply commented when they were both finally dressed up and nice.
"Let's go have breakfast, shall we? My parents didnt wake us up today so I'm assuming they let us sleep in." He guessed and stared at them both in front of the mirror, reaching to tuck some hair behind Ulysses's ear."How is that a tease?" Ulysses scoffs. "That was just two friends platonically sleeping next to each other." He claims. He dressed quickly and rolled his eyes at the compliment, "Okay now I know you're being ridiculous." He didn't think that loose sweatpants and shirt was necessarily a good look and that was not counting the fact that he was also very pregnant and very round right now. He smiles slightly when he tucked his hair back and a touch of color creeps into his cheeks at the gesture but covers it up by teasing, "Maybe they just left us be because they realized I was in your room and were far too worried about what they might walk in on." He smirks. They had just been sleeping but they might not have known that. Denzel made a face. He couldnt see two friends sleeping on the same bed together. Amber and Rory didnt even sleep in the same room and they were really good friends, therefore they shouldn't either.
He noticed the little blush and opened the door for them to leave the room. Ulysses was so pretty and loveable but he didnt want to look like a sucker.
He laughed. "Maybe they did. My parents are weird though, so you'll never know." In reality, that was exactly what had happened. Sidiian was too afraid to open the door and find his baby boy getting busy. It would scar his parent heart.
He led him to the door. "We'll have breakfast on Earth. If your pregnant brain can handle the wait." He joked.Ulysses follows him out and was briefly stricken by the sound of his laugh. He didn't think he would ever tire of the sound. He couldn't help but think he was incredibly lucky to get to see this side of Denzel. He hums in response, "Hmmm... I dunno. I might just starve before we get there." He smirks but then just starts heading for the gate so that they could leave and descend down to earth. "Let's hope not." Denzel smirked back down at Ulysses with a very affectionate gaze. It didnt dawn on him yet that he was really into Ulysses's silly little personality.
He walked him down to the Gate where Rory stood guard, then made a little hop and flew down through the clouds to land in the same place that they came to last time; just near the fairgrounds.
"I came back here a few times in the last weeks." Denzel admitted as he plucked his phone and searched for the nearest baby supply store. "I guess I missed you more than I should have."Ulysses followed after Denzel down to earth and recognized the place that they had come last time. His expression softened at what the angel admitted. "Really? Wow. You did miss me." He then nudges him with his shoulder, "I missed you too. A lot. I never thought I would care so much for an angel." He wasn't even sure how it happened. Some how going on a date with him had branded him on his heart in a way that he couldn't erase. And the more time he spent with him the more his feelings grew. "I did." Denzel agreed, already walking in the direction of an outdoor mall. It was a five mile walk but he was an angel and it wasnt a big deal at all. He stared at the fairgrounds as they walked alongside of it.
He turned his head to the side to meet Ulysses's gaze. "I know you did. Otherwise you wouldnt have promised Mikhail some type of food to talk to me." He joked, slowly taking his hand as tehy walked."Wow that's so embarrassing for you." Ulysses smirks as they walk towards the mall. His eyes then widen, "What? He told you that? He's stupid. Don't believe anything he says." He claims. He looks down at their hands when Denzel took it and smiles softly to himself. "I was just wanted to make sure you were okay. I didn't know what your parents might do." He admits. Now that he had been around them it was obvious that Sidiian and Xander adored their kids but he hadn't known that at the time. Denzel rolled his eyes. "Shut up." It was pretty embarrassing. Then he relaxed. "I saw the texts. It was a type of food that you bargained with. Something with a funny name to it. I forgot."
He frowned. "It was very thoughtful that you did that. No one's ever pushed so many boundaries for me. I, on the other hand, didn't even try, and for that I truly apologize." He frowned and squeezed his hand. "I'll never do that again."
He thought for a brief moment about their fate at the fair. "Hmm. Isn't it strange. You would have been pregnant when we were at the fair. You must have been feeling maternal when you gifted me the stuffed polar bear." He joked, nudging him on his side a little."Ulysses makes a face. Mikhail that bastard. Why in the hell had he shown him those texts?? "It's probably better that you didn't. If you had and my mom's had found out they wouldn't have been pleased and I was already in enough trouble." He admits. He gives his hand a squeeze in return and then hums, "Huh, I guess you're right. And maybe so. Though I also think I just wanted to give you something because I wanted you to have a token from me even when I wasn't around." He admits. "And then you just left him on the ground." He shakes his head at him and tsked before admitting. "Before I gave Denzel Junior back to you I kept him locked in my closet. I couldn't stand looking at him cause all I could think about was how angry you'd gotten and how you left." Denzel nodded. He couldn't even imagine the kind of hell Ulysses's mothers would have given them. He listened intently to Ulysses and felt a warm, giddy feeling in his chest. Ulysses was so sweet that he was basically dripping with honey.
He faced the demon when he listened to the last part of his statement. "Oh." That was seriously something else. How could someone be so precious. "I apologized already. Don't make me apologize again." He frowned, swinging their hands back and forth as they walked. "I didn't expect for it to hurt you so much..."
The white haired angel looked forward towards the stores and spotted a couple that piqued his interest. They were a couple miles away, however."Well yeah I was hurt. We'd had a good time and then you got so angry. And I mean know I had no reason to expect more but I had thought we were having a good time and then it kind of hurt to realize you really were just hanging out with me for information." He explains. He then also spotted the stores and perked up. "Oooohhh, there they are." He says and quickly picks up his pace. "I'm sorry." Denzel almost whispered from how quiet it was. He frowned as he thought about it and promised himself to never hurt the demon like that again.
He perked up when Ulysses pointed out the stores. "I don't know how to glamour money so we're on a budget." He quickly added. "And since you dont come to Earth, I'm guessing you don't have any." He said. He had made a credit card a long time ago and maxed it out, thinking it was a card that magically paid for everything. But then the debt collectors were after him so he stopped.
He kept holding his hand as they walked, squinting from the Sun's reflections of the windows.Ulysses pouts when he was told they were on a budget, "Damn. What if we just take what we want then? The humans are too weak and squishy to stop us." He suggests. He was a demon so a little thieving really was nothing to him. He lazily swings their hands together and tried to stride quickly but it was more of an awkward waddle because of his belly. He heads into a store that caught his eye and gasps at the baby clothes. "Everything is so small." He says almost reverently. "Your demon-ness is showing." Denzel chuckled. He was an angel. He did not steal. "Humans are too weak and squishy but my life's purpose is to protect them. Not to steal from and eat them."
It was so strange. Ulysses looked all sweet and pregnant right then that it was hard to imagine him doing anything evil or true to his nature. However he had admitted to eating human more than once.
He noticed his waddle and FUCK was it so endearing. Denzel fully smiled to him; the type of smile that made his eyes sparkle. "You look like you're about to explode." He joked."Well I am a demon." Ulysses smirks but then pouts when he was further denied, "You angels are far too virtuous." He sighs. He glances back at him and was so stunned by his smile. It was enough to take his breath away. "Beautiful." He breathes. His smile was dazzling enough that it should come with a warning. He then smirks, "I feel like I'm about to explode. This baby better hurry up." "Yes. And you need to work on that." Denzel nodded when Ulysses confirmed that he was a demon. He still hated demons.
When he was called beautiful, Denzel let go of Ulysses's hand and slapped his arm lightly. "Stop it." He murmured with embarrassment. He quickly distracted himself by finding a minuscule onesie that read: 'Mommy's Little Angel'. He held it up to Ulysses. "Nice, yeah? Hopefully they'll look more angelic so that this would make sense though..."Ulysses gives him a shove, "Shut up. I'm perfect the way I am." He sticks his tongue out at him before turning his attention back to all of the baby clothes. He gasps at the onesie that Denzel held up. "We need that one. I don't care how they look. They'll still be half angel regardless and be my little angel." he declares excitedly. He quickly began oohing and ahhing over all the adorable baby clothes and got a little choked up at how tiny the baby socks were, "They're feet will be so tiny!" He cried out dramatically. He picked out several outfits and through them into a cart that he grabbed and began to also toss in other supplies they needed. "Lemme know when we've reached our budget limit since someone wants to follow the rules." He gives him a look. Denzel groaned when he was shoved. "You really aren't." He told Ulysses as he hunted through the racks to find some more fitting clothing. The demon's excitement over the baby clothes made Denzel want to keep him pregnant forever. He was so pretty. In that moment, he finally understood Kelly and Winter and their obsession with having 12 babies. Who wouldn't want this? The excitement over the baby, the cute pregnant body, the nesting that they were doing... It was all so nice.
He took a look at the pack of baby socks pouted at the thought of tiny baby limbs when Ulysses wasnt looking. "How adorable." He breathed, noticing how emotional this was making Uly. "You know what also is really tiny?" He held up a little back of mittens to him to show him how tiny things were before sharing the same look back at Ulysses for subtly encouraging theft.
"I'm an angel, Uly. I'm not doing that." He insisted, though he lowkey could be swayed. "Come on, gremlin." He pushed the cart and walked him around the shop.Ulysses had high enough self esteem that Denzel's response didn't even faze him. "Hmm?" He hums as he draws his gaze away from little baby hats to see what Denzel was talking about. He gasps at the mittens. "So small." He immediately pouts when Denzel immediately shut down his idea to steal. Back home his family was wealthy enough that he could usually just purchase anything he wanted. He however didn't have any earth money and he was not used to being denied what he wanted. Which was very unfortunate because he wanted so many things for the baby and they had a limited budget. That's when he had an idea. "Is it really stealing if you're owed it." He says casually. "I mean all of you angels work so hard to protect these silly humans. And do they give you anything in return? I think you deserve compensation for all your hard work. Especially now that we now have a baby on the way." He says as he examines the crib options. Denzel put his finger to his chin and thought deeply about it. Why weren't they given anything in return for saving the humans? Surely some humans could at least pit up offering or something.
"Yeah..." He finally agreed with a dazed expression. "That makes sense. And they won't die from missing a few baby items." Money was not a concept in Heaven and so Denzel didn't really fully understand how it worked. He nodded. "Okay. Let's do it." Yup. They were going to shoplift.
He casually put some more things into their cart before tossing in some cans of formula and baby bottles. "Think we're about done, yeah?" He finally asked when they basically went over the whole store."Exactly!" Ulysses says and was delighted that Denzel was agreeing with him. While he'd first thought of it as a way to get what he wanted it was also the truth. His dear brave angel worked so hard so these stupid humans should compensate him! He nods in agreement, "They have so much baby stuff they can't possibly miss it anyways." He says. As they wander through the store he adds a few more items like blankets and diapers and in the end they had everything a baby could need. "Looks good to me." He says with a nod of satisfaction. "Lets go home." He starts collects the items into bags to make it easier to carry home and then casually strolls for the door. Denzel gave Ulysses a little approving nod when the atuff were going in bags but he stood and didnt help so that he was on the look-out. An employee stared right at them and froze. Denzel casually waved and bent to lift the bags of the stuff they were essentially stealing. When the employee began to walk hurriedly towards them, Denzel had all the bags and nudged Ulysses out the door in a jog.
"Hey! Hey!" The employee yelled after them, making the sleepy security guard also yell for them. Denzel though this was funny and started to laugh a little as he broke into a run. "Stupid humans." He chuckled to Ulysses. "I promised you breakfast. Let's have breakfast somewhere." He decided while they were being chased.Thankfully they both had supernatural strength so it was no hard thing to carry the multiple bags. He was not at all worried about the humans as he knew they could easily best them if needed. When they were seen he moved quicker so that they could lose them and lets out his own laugh of delight at their mischief. He flashes Denzel a grin. "You called them stupid. I'm beginning to think I'm a bad influence on you." He teases before nodding eagerly, "I'm starving. Lets go." "I'm calling the Police!" The security guard promised after he was out of breath and stopped chasing them to do just that.
Denzel chuckled as he continued run-jogging, shaking his head. "You have been a bad influence since the day i met you. It hasn't started just today."
He scanned the are for any place to eat breakfast at but there were no decent breakfast joints.
He spotted the nearest fast food chain and shrugged. "Breakfast burritos?" He suggested, already walking there with a happy demeanor."Who the fuck is named The Police? Sounds lame. You humans have weird names." Ulysses scoffs, having no concept of human law enforcement. He smirks back at Denzel, "Mmm... yeah I guess so. Better be careful. I might bring you fully to the dark side." He winks before happily following him over to get breakfast burritos. Nothing like a little crime with your breakfast to start your day."It's not a person. It's a group of wannabe humans who wanna be angels." Well, that's what he was told from the other angels. Denzel had never been faced with one.
He entered the fast food restaurant with all his bags of baby things and looked straight at the teenager at the register. "Let me get a... What do you want, Uly?" He stepped aside so his pregnant friend could choose. Ulysses was really so cute, especially with his penguin waddle, that he was quickly turning into a weak spot for Denzel. He needed to watch out.
Once their food was given to them, Denzel walked them out so they could sit somewhere else to eat. He pointed to the roof of a Walmart. "Let's sit there." Denzel suggested, but was already looking around and flying off."Thats so weird. They don't even have wings. How is that supposed to work?" Ulysses scoffs. This just further proved how stupid humans were. At the register he puts in his order and eagerly got his food. Once they were done he was more than happy to follow along with Denzel. He flared out his wings and glided up to the roof with him. Well not quite gliding. With his extra weight he wasn't nearly as graceful and much more resembled a clumsy bumble bee. He lands and sits down next to Denzel. He puts down the bags and starts nibbling on his meal. "Earth is starting to grow on me." He admits. Though undoubtedly most of that was because Denzel was at his side. "How old were you when left and became an angel?" He asks curiously. "Not like wings. They're wannabe angels because they also want to punish people for injustice. Thats our job. I dunno though. I've never seen one in action." Denzel smiled as they flew to the roof. Ulysses's clumsy little flight made Denzel want to ho home and daydream about him.
He stared at all the humans going about their days in the parking lot and took a bite of his burrito. It tasted really good after a good run.
"Is it? We need to really go out more. Maybe make some human acquaintances." He joked when Ulysses said Earth was growing on him. "I'm glad you like it."
He took another bite of his god but then poured some hot sauce on it. The question was sudden but Denzel was open to answering. "I was almost eleven when they rescued us. I sometimes wish I was younger when I was turned, but it is what it is." He answered with a little smile. His smiles were happening a lot, but only around Uly."Thats even stupider. They're so puny and soft. How are they supposed to do what angels do?" Ulysses scoffs. He makes a face, "I dunno. I could try meeting a human but I'm not sure I would like them very much." As he ate his burrito he also occasionally threw small pieces at the pigeons down below to feed them. The birds ended up flying up and perching nearby on the roofs edge and cooed at them hopefully for more. Ulysses had always been fond of animals so he obliged as he listened to Denzel. He frowns slightly, "What do you mean rescued?" He asks and turns to look at him. "I know." Denzel agreed to Ulysses's point about the Police. He did appreciate them though. They made for a good laugh when they chase demons.
Denzel noticed how the demon was encouraging more birds to perch near them and kicked his foot lazily in the air, demanding "shoo! Shoo!"
Ulysses then dove deeper and further asked a question about his past. Denzel didnt usually talk about it but then again they were going to have a baby together soon and therefore he would answer. He tried to think of where to start.
"Yeah. I was rescued. Rory and I were both sold into the same slave sweatshop very early in our lives. He doesn't remember much of it because when we were rescued, he was only four. I remember it much more. And vividly. It was Hell on Earth." He spoke with a calm tone, then it broke a little at the end. Talking about it always depressed him. "We had no one. There no windows and we were fed once a day if we did a really good job. I lost my foot there too... I still get nightmares of it. The sweatershop owner grabbed my leg after my foot had been cut off and..." Denzel couldnt talk anymore, he tried to push himself to speak but words refused to form. His lower lip quivered and he turned his face away from Ulysses.Ulysses immediately regretted his curiosity. His eyes went wide in horror as he imagined his Denzel going through something like that. He had been so young. Barely more than a baby himself. Anger and sorrow for what he had been through pulsed through him and he had never wanted to kill someone so badly in his life. "Oh, Denzel." He reaches out and yanks him into a tight embrace as he holds him against him. "Does he still live? If so I will find him and rip him apart piece by piece. Slowly. A quick death would be too merciful." He growls. He gently strokes his hair and after a moment says more gently, "Thank you for trusting me with this." Denzel felt himself being pulled into a hug and didnt even bother pretending to not want it or push away. He wrapped his arms around Ulysses but kept it a loose embrace because he was pregnant.
"Oh no. My parents took care of him." He exhaled in a little smile. Ulysses seemed to care a lot of if he promised the death of someone for him.
Denzel felt him stroke his hair and something inside of him immediately broke. He let out a little sniffle. "No. Thank you." He whispered, resting his head on the demon's shoulder. Now that Ulysses had that information, he felt much more connected to him.Ulysses was relieved to hear that the man wasn't around anymore and hoped that the angels had made him suffer. He heard Denzel's sniffle and it broke his heart. He holds him tighter and just lingered in the embrace, "I'm so sorry that any of that happened. You deserved far better than that." It made him feel protective of the angel though he knew logically that Denzel was far more capable of taking care of himself. To be honest this was also just giving him more reason to dislike humans. The angel hugged back, letting himself slip in this beautiful moment of having Ulysses hug him. The pregnant belly made it so much more comfortable.
Denzel wiped his eyes (they were getting a little wet and he couldnt have that) before slowly sitting back up. He met with Ulysses's black eyes and smiled a little. "You make for a good comforter. I didnt expect that." He tried to joke, sniffling one last time.
"I just dont like thinking about it. It happened twenty years ago but it still hurts, you know? I'm still glad I got to share that with you. You would have found out one way or another." He smirked. "Thank you."Ulysses let him pull back after a moment and reaches out to cup his cheek, "I understand." He tells him genuinely, "It's hard to talk about something like that." He taps his own chest above his heart where his scar was to demonstrate how he knew how hard childhood trauma could be. He smiles back at him. "You're welcome. I am glad you told me. Though I can't believe you told me your parents cut off your foot." He tsked at him and took a bite of his wrap. He had just swallowed when he felt a sudden cramping pain in his abdomen. "Ow! Ow ow ow." He complains and places his hand there as he winced. "It is." Denzel couldnt choose which was worse, getting your foot ripped off and being awake for the entirety of it, or actually getting hurt and dying, but then coming back to life. He smiled a little. "Did you believe me? My parents may look like murderers but they are sweethearts, truly. You'll see that once you get to know them some more." He promised.
He watched Ulysses wince and exclaim his pain. "Haha yeah right. Did you eat too much?" Denzel joked, not realizing that he was being serious."Hey your parents are scary." Ulysses said defensively. He then frowns at Denzel when he didn't take him seriously, "No seriously. It hurt. I think I got a cramp." He said and then gasps as another wave of pain hit him. "Fuck." He complains and leaps to his feet and strides along the roof as if to walk out the cramp. "Damn that hurts." He complains and flaps his wings but then stopped as it hit him what it might be. He whirls back to Denzel with wide eyes, "Do you think it might be the baby?" Denzel also stood up when the demon began to walk along the rooftop. He curiously tried to look over at his stomach to check. He didnt know what he was supposed to do in that instant.
"It might be. Do you want my Mom to look you over? We can fly now before it gets worse." He suggested, frowning down at Ulysses with concern in his face. He was very worried for his friend.Ulysses bites his bottom lip but then nods quickly, "Yes let's do that. I would rather be safe." He collected his bags before flying back towards heaven. Along the trip the cramps started to get more frequent but he just powered through them. Denzel grabbed the majority of the bags to lighten Ulysses's load, then flew forward almost in a race to get to Heaven. He noticed how the time intervals between each bout of pain lessened and that was not good.
When they arrived at the Gate, Denzel dropped his bags and ordered for Ulysses to do the same. Rory could get them faster than anyone could and they had more important things to do. As they flew into Heaven, Denzel frowned to him. "Are you alright?"Ulysses drops the bags when he was told to and flutters his wings. "Yeah yeah fine." He says a bit breathlessly as he tries to keep from wincing. "Where's your mom at?" He asks and just let's Denzel lead the way. "He's a Healer. He'll be at his Office." Denzel directed and pointed to their north. He landed at the Healer's building's doorstep. It was designed like a normal house but larger. True to angel culture, it was supposed to not look like a place for help so that it didnt hurt an angel's dignity when they had to go there.
"Hey." Sidiian opened the door with a smile. "I'm trusting your here to thank me for the crib?"
"What crib?" Denzel looked confused. Sidiian shrugged. "I had some free time and a lot of wood from my woodshop. I made a crib for the baby in the guestroom."
"Ohhh. Thank you." Denzel smiled brilliantly to his parent and gasped. "Ah! Ulysses says he's feeling cramps." He pointed.
Sidiian averted his gaze to Ulysses. "Come come." He brought them inside. The building was built like a human hospital on the inside, though the angels working there didnt wear scrubs or had human technology. It was all magic and stitches for them.Ulysses just nods and follows Denzel quickly to the Healers building. He blinks at Sidiian when he met them at the door and was very puzzled by the greeting. "Oh. Thank you. That's awesome." He says with a genuine smile. What would be a better gift than a crib made by the baby's grandmother? He then gasps sharply as pain went through him in another wave. "I think it's the baby." He admits as he steps inside and moves to sit down on one of the cots. "You're welcome." Sidiian had made a little competition with Xander. Since Xander gave the swords, he would make the cribs.
He led Ulysses down to a plain bed in one of the room and checked on him. "It's the baby alright. But you aren't there yet." Sidiian easily deducted. "Give it fifteen minutes and I'll check again."
Denzel stood beside the bed with his hands behind his back and his feet together in a dutiful posture. He looked down at Ulysses. "Soon, we'll have the baby? Isn't that exciting?" He asked, trying to distract him from the contractions.Ulysses eyes widen when Sidiian confirmed what he'd suspected. After all of this waiting it was finally time for the baby. "Oh shit." He breaths and felt a fresh wave of nervousness. He looks up at Denzel. "Yeah. I'm exited. And I'm also super nervous. I mean we're going to be parents. We're going to be in charge of this tiny defenseless little person. I shouldn't even be in charge of myself much less someone else." He swallows and rakes a hand through his hair. It was feeling more and more real by the second. "How about you? I mean how do you feel? You only found out about this the other day. I've at least had more time to accept it." Denzel laughed a little. "You're right. You're not even the least bit responsible. I can't imagine you handling a wee little baby all on your own. That's why I'm here." He jibed. "We'll raise this little demon angel very well. They'll have a wonderful childhood without dying or amputations. Maybe we'll get them a puppy to be friends with. And spoil them with many toys." He planned out loud, resting his blue eyes down on Ulysses.
"I feel great." He answered. "I have never been more excited to meet someone in my life. If only they hurried up." Denzel caressed over the baby bump gently. "I'm not even in shock or anything. I'm very happy."
He smiled down at Ulysses. "It's okay to have doubts about yourself, but I just want to let you know that I believe in you. And in your ability to parent this baby." He encouraged. From how happy he felt, Denzel could have floated. He frowned a little. "Do you wish for your Mothers to be here..?""Good thing I have you here then." Ulysses grins. Hopefully Denzel was right and they would be able to get their little spawn to adulthood without any permanent injury. They certainly had plenty of scary protective family to keep them safe. "They need to hurry. I want to hold them in my arms already." He admits. A softer expressing crosses his face, "You believe in me more than I do myself but thanks." He then looks down and shrugs. "I mean yeah. Of course I do. They're my mom's." He'd mostly been trying not to think about it but he was kind of sad that his family couldn't be here for this. But there was no way to make this work. His mothers had made their opinions on angels very clear. "That's my job. I'm about to be a full Commander and seeing people's potential comes easy. You're going to be great." Denzel promised. He saw how gentle Uly was to him when he felt sad. And protective when he felt threatened. He also noticed how nurturing Uly acted around Masha. The demon was lazy and stupid and irresponsible, yes. But he also was kind and analyzing and very complex emotionally. Denzel never saw demons as people before Ulysses.
"I can fly to Hell and bargain for them to come." Denzel offered. He couldn't imagine going through such a traumatic and beautiful thing without his own parents. Giving birth without immediate family seemed like a nightmare. "I'll be back before anything major happens." He promised.Ulysses's eyes widen at his offer, "You would do that for me?" He asks. He bites his bottom lip uncertainly before giving a single nod. "If you can then... please. But if you can't immediately get them to come then just come back. While I want them here I also need you here." He says. He didn't want to risk Denzel not being here because he was too busy trying to work out things with his mom's. "Yes." Denzel breathed. At that point, he was convinced that he would do anything for Ulysses. Once he was given the okay to go, he affectionately knocked on the demon's antlers and flew out of the window and out of Heaven in a short flight.
He reached Hell's Gate and realized that Hell and Heaven had many things in common. For one; they had really lenient ostiaries. He tossed his full wallet at the woman and flew inside. It was nighttime as usual there. His bright wings contrasted with everything.
He maneuvered his way to Uly's house and when he finally found it, he knocked the door urgently.Ulysses smiles softly at the affection and watched Denzel leave with a stupid grin on his face before immediately grimacing at another contraction.

Deidre and Seraphine were home when the angel knocked. Seraphine strode over and opened it before immediately stiffening. She was a very tall woman and exceeded both her son and Denzel in height by a few inches so she looked down at the angel. "Is something wrong? What happened?" She demanded. She could fathom no reason for why Denzel would appear at her doorstep without her son unless something terrible had happened to him. "If any harm has befallen him I will pluck you like a chicken." She threatens. Having realized something was wrong Deidre appeared at her wife's side with a glower. Though she had a more muscular build she was shorter and only reached Seraphines shoulder. She also had her broad sword which she pressed the tip to Denzels throat, the black infernal metal nicking his skin. "Start talking angel." She demands. Just as Denzel left the room, Sidiian entered it and wiggled a gloved hand. "Looks like you're ready. Shall we start?"

Denzel was good at negotiating. He kept a cool face, his eyes focused and his lips in a slight frown. When the demon opened the door, he slowly raised his hands so they were held up to the same level as his head. He kept his neutral expression even when the sword was at his neck, however he did lift his chin a little.
"There's nothing wrong." He announced and gulped, feeling the black blade lightly pierce his skin. "Ulysses has gone into labor. He wishes for you both to come. Though he won't admit it, I fear that he's afraid and nervous and the only thing that would soothe that is the presence of his Mothers."
Denzel kept still to not appear threatening, though in reality he looked like a cornered mouse standing in front of such powerful demons. "Please. Let us put our disagreements aside. He needs us to be there." He added quickly after that.Ulysses's eyes widen when Sidiian came back in and quickly shook his head, "No. Wait. Just a little longer. I need Denzel here." He says quickly.

The demon women share a look, silent words passing between one another in a glance in that way only people who had known each other for a long time could do. There seemed to be a slight disagreement given the furrow in Deidre's brow but then Seraphine says aloud more calmly to her wife. "Not yet." She places the palm of her hand on the flat of the sword and pushes it away from the angels neck. Deidre looked displeased but then sheaths the blade. "Fine."
"Let's go. Lead the way, youngling." Seraphine orders Denzel. In her eyes with their age Denzel was little more than a baby himself.
