He decided to take him but before they leave "I'll come too, I know how the things look, please let me help the kid"

The air was thick with tension as Natalie, Shane, and Otis approached the darkened school. Shadows loomed over the crumbling building, the silence interrupted only by the distant groans of walkers.

"We need to be quick," Shane muttered, his eyes scanning the perimeter. "Stay close."

Natalie nodded, gripping her weapon tightly, adrenaline coursing through her veins. This mission was crucial—for Carl and for proving herself to the group.

They slipped through a broken window, the eerie silence of the hallways amplifying every footstep. Lockers stood ajar, remnants of a life long lost, and the stench of decay clung to the air.

"Stick together," Otis whispered, glancing nervously around. "We don't know how many are inside."

As they moved deeper into the school, Natalie felt her heart pounding in her chest, every nerve on edge. A sudden noise echoed from the gymnasium, and they paused, exchanging tense glances.

Shane signaled for them to move forward. "We don't have much time."

Entering the gym, they spotted a small horde of walkers. Natalie swallowed hard, focusing on the task at hand. There was no room for fear now.

"Take the ones on the left," Shane instructed, raising his weapon.

With swift precision, they dispatched the walkers, the sound of gunfire echoing off the walls. Natalie's aim was steady, her resolve firm.

"Grab what we need," Shane urged, nodding toward a supply closet. "We can't stay here."

Natalie and Otis quickly gathered the medical supplies, stuffing them into their packs. Every second felt like an eternity, the urgency of their mission pressing on them.

As they turned to leave, the sound of more walkers approached, their groans growing louder. "We need to move!" Natalie urged, eyes wide with urgency.

As they made their way through the school, the tension was palpable. Natalie, Shane, and Otis fought their way through the walkers, adrenaline fueling every step. They grabbed the medical supplies, urgency driving them forward.

As they reached the exit, the groans of the undead grew louder, closing in. Shane turned to Natalie, eyes intense. "Run to the car, now!"

Natalie sprinted toward the vehicle, heart pounding, her mind racing with the need to survive. She glanced back just in time to see Shane raise his weapon.

A shot rang out, and Otis stumbled, clutching his leg. Horror dawned on Natalie as she realized Shane's intention—he had sacrificed Otis to the walkers.

"Go!" Shane shouted, and despite the turmoil inside her, Natalie obeyed, knowing they had to make it back to save Carl.

As she reached the car, guilt and shock washed over her, but she understood the brutal reality of their world. Trust was fragile, survival was paramount, and sometimes, choices were made that haunted them all.
